Starting with key players, the Vietnamese men's volleyball team is being cautious.
Coach Tran Dinh Tien fielded a lineup with key players like Ngoc Thuan, Van Duy, and Quoc Du from the start. With the well-placed passes from setter Dinh Van Duy, the Vietnamese men's volleyball team's hitters took turns scoring points, securing a 25-13 victory in the first set.

In the second set, the coaching staff of the Vietnamese men's volleyball team made a complete lineup change, bringing in Quoc Duy, Xuan Duc, and Van Hai. Despite some inconsistencies in their play, which caused the set to last longer than expected, the Vietnamese team ultimately won with a score of 25-20. The third set saw the return of the main lineup. As predicted, the Vietnamese men's volleyball team quickly took control of the game and finished the set with a score of 25-14.
An easy victory in the opening match will give the players a better psychological boost as they aim to defend their SEA Games title. Coach Tran Dinh Tien's team will play their second match at 5:30 PM on December 14th against Singapore.
