On December 19th, 232 projects are expected to simultaneously commence or be inaugurated nationwide, with an investment scale of approximately 1.1 trillion VND. Notably, many of these are "mega-projects" with scales ranging from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of billions of VND.

The Ministry of Construction announced that it has compiled a list of 232 projects and works from ministries, departments, localities, corporations, and general companies in 34 provinces and cities that are eligible for commencement and inauguration on December 19th. Of these, 149 projects are scheduled for commencement and 83 projects are scheduled for inauguration.

It is expected that 34 locations will be connected, with the participation of leaders from the Party, State, National Assembly , Fatherland Front, Government, and ministries.

On December 19th, the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) will inaugurate Phase 1 - Component 3 of the Long Thanh International Airport construction project, with a scale of 98,563 billion VND.

ACV announced that it will inaugurate several facilities and launch the first flight at Long Thanh Airport. It is also expected to be the main venue for inauguration and groundbreaking ceremonies for projects nationwide.

Phase 1 of Long Thanh International Airport includes 2 runways, 1 passenger terminal, and other supporting facilities with a capacity of 25 million passengers per year and 1.2 million tons of cargo per year.

The project includes the following main components: airfield infrastructure with 2 runways, each 4,000 m long and 75 m wide, and a system of taxiways and aprons to accommodate all types of aircraft.

The passenger terminal has a designed capacity of 25 million passengers per year and a total floor area of ​​373,000 m² . Supporting facilities include parking garages; cargo terminals with a total capacity of 1.2 million tons of cargo per year; fuel stations; and wastewater drainage and treatment facilities.

In addition, transportation links directly to the airport include Route 1 connecting the airport to National Highway 51, with 6 lanes, and Route 2 connecting to the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh Expressway, with 4 lanes and interchanges.

Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong Railway

The investment project to build the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line will commence with the construction of connecting infrastructure along the line and the Lao Cai station square (Lao Cai ward, Lao Cai province), with a scale of 3,347 billion VND.

The project will invest in a road connecting to the stations with a minimum of 2 lanes for motorized vehicles; 2 lanes for non-motorized vehicles, and sidewalks at least 3 meters wide.

The Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway project starts at the border crossing point (Lao Cai province) and ends at Lach Huyen station (Hai Phong), spanning 419 km with an estimated total investment of 203,200 billion VND (equivalent to 8.37 billion USD). The line includes 18 stations, comprising 15 mixed-use stations for passenger and freight trains and 3 stations for train decommissioning.

The railway line will have a design speed of 160 km/h on the section from Lao Cai station to Lach Huyen port station, 80 km/h for the section from Lao Cai to the branch lines, and 120 km/h for the section passing through Hanoi and coinciding with the eastern ring railway.

The project comprises 10 sub-projects, including 2 construction projects, 7 land clearance projects, and one project to relocate power infrastructure. It is expected to acquire 3,162 hectares of land and resettle over 7,500 households. The land clearance cost is estimated at nearly 36,000 billion VND.

Olympic Sports City Project - Hanoi

The planning study covers an area of ​​approximately 16,000 hectares. The project implementation is expected to cover approximately 10,000 hectares with a projected population of around 800,000 people. The total estimated investment is 350,000 billion VND.

The project is planned to be divided into four main zones, including Zone A: new urban development associated with the TOD (Transit-Oriented Development) model and taking into account its role as a transportation hub connecting and supporting the sports complex (international-class stadium) located in Zone B.

Zones B, C, and D: development of sports cities and service cities associated with the sports complex.

Location: Within the boundaries of 12 communes/wards: Thanh Liet, Dai Thanh, Ngoc Hoi, Nam Phu, Thuong Tin, Hong Van, Chuong Duong, Thuong Phuc, Binh Minh, Tam Hung, Thanh Oai, Dan Hoa (Hanoi).

Ben Thanh - Can Gio Metro Project

The project is expected to commence in the Can Gio reclaimed land urban area, with Vinspeed High-Speed ​​Railway Investment and Development Joint Stock Company (a subsidiary of Vingroup) as the investor. The metro line is 54 km long, designed as a double track, with a maximum speed of 350 km/hour. When operational, there will be 6 trains in operation and one reserve train.

Previously, on December 5th, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee approved the investment plan and also approved Vinspeed as the investor to implement the Ben Thanh - Can Gio railway project. The project will be a double-track railway with a gauge of 1,435 mm, a main line length of over 54 km, a design speed of 350 km/hour, and a load capacity of 17 tons per axle.

The station project includes 2 stations in phase 1, comprising Ben Thanh and Can Gio stations, and 4 stations in phase 2 (when needed), including Tan Thuan, Tan My, Nha Be, and Binh Khanh stations; 1 depot is planned to be located in Can Gio commune, and 1 operational control center (OCC) is also planned to be located in Can Gio commune.

The preliminary total investment is approximately 102,430 billion VND (excluding approximately 12,784 billion VND for land clearance costs, which are covered by the state budget).

The construction progress and commissioning or operationalization of the project is scheduled for 30 months from the date of land allocation, with operational commencement in 2028 (excluding the 4 stations in phase 2).

The Ben Thanh - Can Gio railway project starts at 23 September Park (Ben Thanh Ward) and ends at a 39-hectare plot of land adjacent to the Can Gio coastal tourism urban area project (Can Gio Commune).

The Dong Dang - Tra Linh expressway project is racing against time to be substantially completed by December 19th.

Construction begins and a series of expressways are inaugurated.

The Tan Phu (Dong Nai province) - Bao Loc (Lam Dong province) expressway construction project, implemented under the PPP (Public-Private Partnership) model, will commence at its starting point in Lam Dong province.

The project, with a capital investment of VND 18,002 billion (including budget funds and investor's counterpart funds), is nearly 66 km long, shortening travel time from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Lat. Construction will take 25 months, with toll collection lasting over 23 years. The starting point coincides with the end point of the Dau Giay - Tan Phu expressway; the end point is in Bao Loc, Lam Dong province, connecting to the 74 km Bao Loc - Lien Khuong expressway, which commenced construction at the end of June.

The Ministry of Construction also announced that on December 19th, a series of North-South expressways are expected to be inaugurated, including the Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon; Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh; Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon; Chi Thanh - Van Phong; Can Tho - Hau Giang; Hau Giang - Ca Mau; Bien Hoa - Vung Tau sections, and parts of the Huu Nghi - Chi Lang and Dong Dang - Tra Linh expressways...

In addition, the Ministry of Construction also commenced many major infrastructure projects such as the expansion of the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong - My Thuan expressway; the expansion of the North-South expressway eastward section from Cam Lo to La Son; and the completion of the Than Vu tunnel and the Nui Vung tunnel on the North-South expressway...
