The Lunar New Year holiday in 2026 (Year of the Horse) will be 5 days long, including 1 day before Tet and 4 days after Tet, from Monday, February 16, 2026 (corresponding to the 29th day of the 12th lunar month of the Year of the Snake) to Friday, February 20, 2026 (corresponding to the 4th day of the 1st lunar month of the Year of the Horse).
According to the 2025-2026 academic year timetable for preschool, primary, secondary, and continuing education issued by the Hanoi People's Committee, the first semester must end before January 18, 2026; the curriculum must be completed and the academic year concluded before May 31, 2026.
The process of recognizing the completion of the primary school program and the awarding of junior high school diplomas will be completed before June 30, 2026. Enrollment for the first-year classes will be completed before July 31, 2026. The 2026 high school graduation exam is expected to take place on June 11 and 12.
Other national-level examinations will be organized according to the regulations and guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Training.
