Hanoi students' New Year's Day holiday schedule for 2026.

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training has just announced the schedule for the 2026 New Year's Day holiday for schools and educational institutions in the city. Accordingly, students will have one day off for New Year's Day.

Specifically, the New Year's Day holiday in 2026 for officials, civil servants, and employees of the Department of Education and Training; kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools, high schools, vocational education and continuing education centers, vocational colleges, and the Hanoi Education Cadre Training School will be one day (January 1, 2026, Thursday).

The Lunar New Year holiday in 2026 (Year of the Horse) will be 5 days long, including 1 day before Tet and 4 days after Tet, from Monday, February 16, 2026 (corresponding to the 29th day of the 12th lunar month of the Year of the Snake) to Friday, February 20, 2026 (corresponding to the 4th day of the 1st lunar month of the Year of the Horse).

According to the 2025-2026 academic year timetable for preschool, primary, secondary, and continuing education issued by the Hanoi People's Committee, the first semester must end before January 18, 2026; the curriculum must be completed and the academic year concluded before May 31, 2026.

The process of recognizing the completion of the primary school program and the awarding of junior high school diplomas will be completed before June 30, 2026. Enrollment for the first-year classes will be completed before July 31, 2026. The 2026 high school graduation exam is expected to take place on June 11 and 12.

Other national-level examinations will be organized according to the regulations and guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Training.
