Hanoi will have an Olympic Sports City complex worth 925 trillion VND.

On the morning of December 13th, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Hanoi People's Committee sought the opinion of the City Party Committee on the policy of immediately implementing the investment project to build the Olympic Sports Urban Area with a total investment of 925,000 billion VND.

Investing in the construction of the Olympic Sports City with its integrated sports complex will enable Hanoi to qualify for hosting major continental and international sporting events such as the Asian Games (ASIAD) and the Olympic Games.

The Olympic Sports Urban Area construction project is being implemented within the scope of 11 communes: Dai Thanh, Ngoc Hoi, Nam Phu, Thuong Tin, Hong Van, Chuong Duong, Thuong Phuc, Binh Minh, Tam Hung, Thanh Oai, and Dan Hoa.

The project covers an area of approximately 9,171 hectares and is expected to be divided into four sub-projects according to the following main zones:

Sub-project A focuses on developing a new urban area based on the TOD (Transit-Oriented Development) model, taking into account its role as a transportation hub connecting and supporting the sports complex.

Sub-project B focuses on developing a sports city and service city connected to a sports complex (the world-class Trong Dong Stadium).

Sub-project C focuses on developing a sports city and service city connected to a sports complex (international-standard stadium).

Sub-project D focuses on developing a sports city and service city connected to a sports complex (international-standard stadium).

The project has a population scale of approximately 800,000 people, a total investment of about 925,000 billion VND, and is expected to be completed in 2030.

The initial independent sub-project, part of the overall investment project to facilitate the construction of the parking lot for the sports complex in Zone B of the Olympic Sports Urban Area, is located within the administrative boundaries of Thuong Tin, Tam Hung, Thuong Phuc, and Dan Hoa communes. The total project area is approximately 2.1 hectares; the preliminary investment capital is approximately 72 billion VND.

The Olympic Sports City construction project is a symbolic and iconic project of Hanoi, representing a massive, important, and urgent investment; it has received close attention and regular guidance from the Central Government and the Government .

The project commenced simultaneously with other projects nationwide on December 19th, as directed by the Government.
