On December 13th, the Van Don Orange Festival 2025 took place in a grand manner, attracting a large number of locals, tourists, and businesses to experience this distinctive local agricultural product.
This year, dozens of stalls displaying oranges and other typical agricultural products from Van Don (Quang Ninh province) are arranged scientifically and designed in the style of a traditional rural market. Alongside this are attractive cultural, artistic, culinary, and traditional experience programs.

The Van Don Orange Festival 2025, with its traditional rural market style, attracted a large number of locals and tourists who came to visit and shop.
According to statistics, the Van Don Special Economic Zone currently has 271 hectares of orange orchards, concentrated most heavily in the Van Yen area with 170 hectares. The estimated yield for 2025 is 600 tons, generating revenue of approximately 18 billion VND.
Over the years, the locality has consistently promoted Van Yen oranges, building a brand for this distinctive agricultural product, linking it with experiential tourism .
The main types of oranges grown by the locals are the paper oranges and sweet tangerines, which are famous native varieties of the Van Don region that have existed for a long time and have become one of the typical agricultural products of Quang Ninh province, favored by markets inside and outside the province for their sweet and juicy taste.

The native orange variety in Van Don has helped many families earn billions of dong and escape poverty sustainably.
Ms. Le Thi Bay, Director of the 10-10 Orange Cooperative, said that growing native oranges has helped many families escape poverty sustainably and brought them stable income.
For Mrs. Bay's family, in 2024, despite losing about half of their harvest due to storms, good prices and the addition of services for tourists to visit and experience helped bring in a revenue of 1.3 billion VND per year.
"This year, with increased orange production and more people coming to experience the process, revenue is estimated to increase by about 30% compared to last year," Ms. Bay said.

Garden owners who offer entrance tickets to tourists can increase their income and maximize their advantages.
To maximize their advantages, many orange growers in Van Don have focused on investing in and innovating business models related to orange products and services, such as: selling tickets for tours and experiences in the orange orchards at prices ranging from 30,000 to 40,000 VND per person; organizing competitions for quick and technically correct orange picking, along with food services in the orchards... contributing to attracting a large number of tourists to visit.
In particular, the Orange Festival is gradually becoming one of the unique products associated with the local area's distinctive experiential tourism.

Van Don oranges have become one of the flagship agricultural products of Quang Ninh province, known for their sweet taste and attractive appearance.
Mr. Tran Danh Dai (residing in village 10/10) said that his family is currently cultivating about 3 hectares of oranges, expecting to harvest around 7-9 tons, which will basically meet the demand for oranges and serve the festival.
These days, Mr. Dai is both harvesting oranges to sell to traders and actively tidying up his orchard to welcome visitors, aiming to increase his income.
