According to a report from Phuc Hung General Hospital, on December 13th, the hospital received and treated 15 cases with symptoms such as fever, abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, thirst, etc., suspected to be due to food poisoning from bread of the HV brand.
Among the patients, 7 cases required emergency hospitalization, including 1 case in the Pediatrics department and 6 cases in the Internal Medicine department. The patients came from various communes and wards in the province such as Nghia Lo, Khanh Cuong, Nghia Giang, Cam Thanh, etc.
To date, apart from Phuc Hung General Hospital, the Quang Ngai Provincial Department of Health has not received any reports of similar suspected poisoning cases at other medical facilities.
Currently, the Department of Health is coordinating with the Food Safety Sub-Department and other relevant agencies to cordon off and seal samples of food suspected of causing the poisoning in order to facilitate testing and determine the cause of the incident.
