"After the victory against Malaysia, the Vietnam U22 team has regrouped and is working hard in training, following the coaching staff's training plan, to prepare well for the semi-final match against the Philippines U22 team," goalkeeper Trung Kien said.
The Vietnam U22 team didn't have a great start in their 2-1 win against Laos U22, but then secured a convincing 2-0 victory against Malaysia U22, earning a place in the semi-finals as group B winners. According to the HAGL goalkeeper, determination and unity are what gave the team its strength.

"Team unity is the driving force that helps us continue to perform well in the next match. After each match, we have our strengths and weaknesses. My teammates and I, along with coach Kim Sang Sik, will have a meeting to address this issue," Trung Kien said.
Assessing their U22 Philippines opponents in the semi-finals, the tallest goalkeeper of the U22 Vietnam team affirmed that U22 Vietnam must play with 200% effort to win.
"I think the Philippines are a strong team. They beat Indonesia in the group stage, so the Vietnam U22 team needs to stay focused," Trung Kien reminded his teammates before the SEA Games 33 semi-final.
The U22 Vietnam vs U22 Philippines semi-final match will take place at 3:30 PM on December 15th at Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
