Vietnamese athletics team brilliantly wins gold medal in mixed 4x400m relay - Video:FPT PLAY
On the evening of December 13th, the Vietnamese team participating in the mixed 4x400m relay, consisting of athletes Nguyen Thi Ngoc, Le Ngoc Phuc, Nguyen Thi Hang, and Ta Ngoc Tuong, stepped onto the track determined to defend the achievement they had attained at the most recent SEA Games.
Athlete Ta Ngoc Tuong, starting from pole position, completed the task brilliantly. He quickly gained the advantage, maintained a steady pace, and crossed the finish line in 45 seconds, despite being closely pursued by Thailand.
In her second heat, female athlete Nguyen Thi Ngoc fully capitalized on her advantage, making a powerful surge, leaving the other two competitors far behind and crossing the finish line in 1 minute and 35 seconds.
Third place went to Le Ngoc Phuc, who continued his incredible acceleration and gave his rivals no chance to close the gap, creating a safe advantage for the final leg.
The pressure only really returned when athlete Nguyen Thi Hang started at 2:22. Her Thai opponents persistently chased her, while the Philippine athletics team had fallen behind. However, Nguyen Thi Hang used all her strength to unleash a burst of speed at the decisive moment.
In the end, the Vietnamese athletics team finished with a time of 3 minutes 15.07 seconds, officially successfully defending their championship title. With this result, Vietnamese athletics also significantly broke the SEA Games record previously held by the host team Thailand (3 minutes 19.29 seconds).
This is a fantastic achievement for the mixed 4x400m relay team and Vietnamese athletics.
