Compared to some other localities, students in Hanoi have a shorter New Year's holiday.
Specifically, the New Year's Day holiday will be on January 1, 2026 (1 day) and the Lunar New Year holiday will be from February 16 to 20, which is from the 29th day of the 12th lunar month of the Year of the Snake to the 4th day of the 1st lunar month of the Year of the Horse (5 days).
This schedule applies to officials, civil servants, and employees of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training and kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools, high schools, vocational education and continuing education centers, vocational colleges, and teacher training schools.
The Hanoi Department of Education and Training requires all units to strictly adhere to the regulations regarding Tet holiday leave.
Schools are responsible for informing staff, teachers, employees, and students, and proactively arranging on-call teams as required, ensuring continuous work and timely handling of any unexpected situations that may arise during the Tet holiday.
Schools should promote and remind students to practice civilized behavior, maintain traffic safety and order, strictly comply with regulations on the management and use of fireworks, prevent social evils, prevent accidents and injuries, and ensure safety in cyberspace.
The Hanoi Department of Education and Training requests that, based on actual conditions, units pay attention to caring for the material and spiritual well-being of officials, teachers, staff, and students.
At the same time, carefully organize visits and provide assistance to families entitled to preferential policies and those in difficult circumstances.
