According to the plan, the Olympic Sports City will be developed into a modern, integrated urban-sports complex, fully equipped for Hanoi to host major regional and international sporting events such as the Asian Games (ASIAD) and the Olympic Games, contributing to the connection of technical and social infrastructure, and creating a modern architectural and landscape space for the southern part of the city.

The project is planned to be implemented in 11 communes in the southern area of Hanoi, with a total area of approximately 9,171 hectares, divided into 4 main functional zones (A, B, C, D). The preliminary total investment is approximately 925,651 billion VND, with an estimated population of about 751,000 people.
