| Leaders of the Regional Defense Command 3 - Ngai Tu and local leaders presented Mid-Autumn Festival gifts to children. |
The "Mid-Autumn Festival Night" program for 1,000 children is one of the activities that has had a strong impact on the community. Lanterns, notebooks, and mooncakes were given directly to underprivileged, academically gifted children in the communes, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere. Many parents were moved to see their children receiving genuine and meaningful care.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa, a resident of Ngai Tu commune ( Vinh Long province), shared: "Every year, my children receive gifts from the soldiers. The kids are very happy. Our family is struggling financially, so these gifts are very meaningful. We really appreciate the soldiers because they always think of the people."
In its gratitude and remembrance activities, the Command of Defense Zone 3 - Ngai Tu organized visits, offered encouragement, and presented gifts to more than 40 families of policy beneficiaries, veteran families, and active-duty soldiers facing difficult circumstances; at the same time, it undertook the regular care of one Heroic Vietnamese Mother with a support level of 2 million VND/quarter.
Veteran Vo Van Hung (Hamlet 9, Hoa Hiep Commune) said emotionally: "I am over 70 years old this year, and on holidays, Tet (Lunar New Year), or when I am sick, the soldiers always come to visit and give gifts. That care makes us even more confident and proud of the heroic traditions of the Vietnamese People's Army."
Alongside focusing on social welfare policies, the unit, in coordination with philanthropists, contributes funds to organize activities and provides materials for the construction of public works. Many individuals and businesses are willing to partner with the unit and the local Party committee and government.
Ms. Pham Thi Ngoc Yen, Deputy Director of the Social Protection Center of Vinh Long province, shared: "We mobilized support because we trust in the transparency and responsibility of the Command of Defense Zone 3 - Ngai Tu, and the local Party committee and government. The soldiers directly came down to the area and carried out very practical tasks; accompanying the Army is both a joy and a responsibility of the community."
Consolidate "the people's support" and strengthen regional defense capabilities.
The effectiveness of the civilian mobilization work of the Command of Defense Zone 3 - Ngai Tu is not only measured by the completed bridges or roads, but also by the positive changes in people's awareness of national defense and security, and the increasingly close bond between the military and the people.
Over the past period, the unit has coordinated and organized more than 20 legal awareness and national defense and security knowledge dissemination sessions for over 3,500 people; participated in supporting disaster prevention and control in localities; and helped people overcome the consequences of storms that damaged the roofs of more than 40 houses in the area. It is noteworthy that each officer and soldier has demonstrated a high sense of responsibility and dedication in every task. At construction sites, the image of soldiers digging earth, transporting materials, and erecting formwork has become familiar to the people.
Ms. Le Thi Thao (from An Hoa B hamlet, Ngai Tu commune, Vinh Long province) expressed: "I see the soldiers working very enthusiastically, without hesitation. Even on days with heavy rain and slippery roads, they still maintain the schedule so that the people can have a new bridge to travel on as soon as possible. Seeing that, I naturally feel affection and trust in the Army even more."
