Lam Dong: Commune police forces launch intensive campaign to crack down on crime and maintain security at major events.

The police in Nam Thanh commune (Lam Dong province) have simultaneously launched a high-intensity campaign to attack and suppress crime, ensuring security and order for major events in the coming period.

On December 12th, the Nam Thanh Commune Police in Lam Dong Province held a ceremony to launch a high-intensity campaign to combat and suppress crime, ensuring security and order for the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, the New Year's Day, the Lunar New Year (Year of the Horse), and other spring festivals in 2026.

Attending the ceremony were members of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, the People's Council, and the People's Committee of the commune; representatives from various departments, the Fatherland Front, and political and social organizations; the Commune Military Command; and a large number of officers and soldiers from the commune's police force and other participating forces.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Head of Nam Thanh Commune Police, Lieutenant Colonel Luong Minh Long, emphasized: "In the past period, closely following the direction of the Lam Dong Provincial Police and the local Party committee and government, the commune police have proactively implemented a comprehensive range of professional measures, maintaining political security and social order in the area, effectively serving the socio -economic development tasks of the locality."

The head of the commune's police force stated that, in the coming period, with many important political events of the country taking place along with major holidays and festivals, the security situation is predicted to become more complex, with the potential for an increase in criminal offenses, drug-related crimes, social vices, and violations of traffic safety laws. Therefore, this peak period is of particular importance, requiring the entire force to uphold a high sense of responsibility, proactively attack, and avoid being caught off guard in any situation.

In accordance with Plan No. 284/KH-CAT-PV01 of the Lam Dong Provincial Police, the Nam Thanh Commune Police issued Plan No. 286/KH-CAX, implementing a comprehensive set of measures to combat and suppress crime. The focus is on combating various types of criminal, economic, drug, and high-tech crimes; organized and mobile criminal gangs; property crimes, illegal lending, gambling; violations related to weapons, explosives, and fireworks; commercial fraud, counterfeit goods, and prohibited items; as well as violations in the management and protection of forests and mineral resources.

The Nam Thanh commune police launched a concentrated campaign to attack and suppress crime, ensuring security and order.

Simultaneously, the commune police strengthened state management of security and order, especially in managing residency and conditional business sectors; promoted the implementation of Project 06; increased patrols and controls to ensure traffic safety and public order; and proactively developed plans for fire prevention, firefighting, and rescue to minimize damage in the event of an incident.

Speaking at the ceremony, Tran Cao Thuy, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Nam Thanh commune, affirmed that after implementing the two-tiered local government model, the Party Committee and People's Committee of the commune have focused on leading and directing the synchronous implementation of socio-economic development tasks associated with strengthening national defense and security, maintaining political stability and social order and safety in the area.

The Party Secretary of the commune emphasized that ensuring security and order is not only the responsibility of the police force but also the shared responsibility of the entire political system. Therefore, departments, organizations, villages, and schools need to proactively coordinate closely with the police force to build a solid people's security posture right from the grassroots level.

The Party Secretary of the commune requested the Commune Military Command to strengthen coordination with the Commune Police in patrolling and controlling key areas; the Department of Culture and Social Affairs and the Commune Radio Station to promote the dissemination of laws and regulations, and to widely publicize examples of good people and good deeds; and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune and its member organizations to actively mobilize the people to participate in the nationwide movement to protect national security.

As part of the intensified campaign, Nam Thanh commune is also implementing a plan to raise awareness, inspect, and strictly handle violations of laws related to the protection of wildlife and aquatic resources. The commune People's Committee will establish inter-agency working groups to promptly detect, correct, and handle violations in accordance with the law.

With the decisive involvement of the police force, the coordinated efforts of the entire political system, and the consensus of the people, the intensive campaign in Nam Thanh commune is expected to contribute to maintaining political security, ensuring social order and safety, and successfully serving important national political events and upcoming holidays and festivals.
