This event marks a significant milestone in VIMC's journey alongside Viettel in the digital transformation of the maritime industry, aiming for three strategic goals: Building and implementing data-driven strategies; Building a digital maritime logistics chain; and Transforming and leveraging data to become: Data As A Service.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Deputy General Director of VIMC , and Mr. Nguyen Chi Thanh, Deputy General Director of Viettel Solutions, along with leaders of key departments and divisions of both units.
Against the backdrop of Vietnam entering a comprehensive digital transformation phase to accelerate and break through in the development of the digital economy , the signing ceremony between VIMC, a leading state-owned enterprise in the maritime sector, and Viettel, a pioneer in providing digital transformation solutions, symbolizes a breakthrough for both parties.
This marks the "first time" that VIMC has implemented a large-scale IT project, using data as a "resource" and "asset," and employing it as a tool for strategic planning and business decision-making. Simultaneously, it is also the "first time" that Viettel Solutions has built a specialized "data warehouse" system for the maritime sector, an industry with which Viettel has not previously had extensive collaboration opportunities.
Although these are both initial steps, both sides share a common goal: to promote comprehensive digital transformation for Vietnam's maritime industry.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Deputy General Director of VIMC, emphasized that VIMC considers data-driven exploitation and operation as its most important task in the 2026 period and aims towards data as a service business in the 2026-2030 period. To implement this project, we need a partner with strong capabilities, experience, and reputation, and Viettel is the most suitable choice.
Representing Viettel Solutions, Mr. Nguyen Chi Thanh shared that upon learning about VIMC's data goals and strategies, they were very excited. The project's very name, "Integration Hub – Big Data," already shows its importance and ambitious objectives. They are committed to completing the project on time and according to VIMC's requirements. They also look forward to continuing their partnership with VIMC, elevating the cooperation between Viettel and VIMC to higher and more comprehensive levels.
The signing ceremony concluded in an atmosphere of determination and deep belief in a strong future cooperation between VIMC and Viettel. The Integration Hub – Big Data project is expected to become a well-managed data platform, integrated into an intelligent AI-powered analytics program, helping businesses understand the market and customers. This paves the way for the formation of a comprehensive VIMC digital ecosystem, aiming for data-driven governance and operations – an inevitable trend in the era of digital transformation.
