Dong Thap strives to reduce the number of social order crimes by 10%.

On December 12th, the Dong Thap Provincial Police Department held a ceremony to launch a high-intensity campaign to combat and suppress crime and law violations, ensuring security and order during events such as: the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026; and the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.

Major General Lam Phuoc Nguyen, Director of the Dong Thap Provincial Police, issued the order to launch the intensive campaign.

At the ceremony, Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province Pham Thanh Ngai requested that the police forces at the provincial level and the police forces of the 102 communes and wards mobilize maximum resources and apply comprehensive professional measures to thoroughly understand the situation in their areas and identify targets; promptly advise Party committees and authorities at all levels; and mobilize the combined strength of the entire political system and the whole population to actively participate in preventing, combating, and reporting crimes, social evils, and violations of the law.

This includes focusing on reviewing and improving plans and strategies for national security protection, proactively detecting and combating terrorist activities, incitement to mass gatherings, disruption of security and order, and riots; strengthening security at the grassroots level, and coordinating effectively with other forces in ensuring border security.

At the same time, proactively develop and implement plans and strategies to protect political events taking place in the area; focus on strongly attacking and suppressing crimes that often occur during holidays and festivals; resolutely combat street crime, and effectively address the situation of youth groups gathering to disrupt public order and using weapons to settle conflicts…

The peak period will take place from December 15, 2025 to March 16, 2026. Accordingly, the Dong Thap Provincial Police will coordinate with departments, agencies, and mass organizations to attack and suppress crime; strengthen propaganda and mobilize the people to raise vigilance and actively report crimes; focus on implementing plans to protect national security; coordinate in reviewing and advising on timely and stable resolution of conflicts, disputes, complaints, and strikes to prevent the formation of "hot spots" of security and order.
