Specifically, according to IQAir, a data aggregation website that collects and ranks air quality based on global monitoring stations, at 7:30 AM on December 12th, Hanoi ranked third on the list of the world's most polluted cities with an AQI index of 281, only behind Lahore (Pakistan) and Delhi (India). This was the fourth consecutive day the index remained at this level, marking the most severe pollution episode since the beginning of winter in Hanoi.

According to the IQAir air pollution monitoring app, at 8:30 AM, Hanoi ranked 4th among the world's most polluted cities with an AQI of 281, classified as very unhealthy.

According to the same app, at 2 PM, the AQI index dropped to 267, ranking second on the list, only after Lahore (Pakistan). The entire sky was covered in a silvery gray, and the air was thick and heavy, making breathing difficult.

Previously, on December 10th, the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, Vu Dai Thang, issued a directive to strengthen urgent measures to control air pollution in the city. The Hanoi Chairman requested the Department of Construction to strengthen strict supervision, requiring 100% of construction sites to implement rigorous dust control measures; loose construction waste must be covered, sealed, or bagged at collection points on construction sites and during transportation to ensure that dust is not released into the environment.

Here are some images we captured of the thick, dusty sky today:
