Ensuring absolute safety at Long Thanh Airport to welcome its first flight.

On December 12th, the Dong Nai Provincial Police held a ceremony to launch a high-intensity campaign to combat and suppress crime, aiming to ensure absolute security and safety for the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, and to maintain social order and safety during Christmas, New Year's Day, and the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Nai province, Nguyen Van Ut, noted that as the year draws to a close and the new year begins, along with a series of key national projects under construction, the security and order situation in the area is potentially complex, especially after the province expanded its administrative boundaries.

According to the Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Nai province, these are urgent issues that require stronger, more coordinated, and decisive action from the entire political system, with the police force playing a key role.

Therefore, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Nai province requested the provincial police, along with relevant departments, agencies, and localities, to immediately focus on implementing several key tasks.

Long Thanh Airport is expected to welcome its first flight on December 19th.

Specifically, proactively advise and comprehensively implement security and order tasks, closely monitor the situation, and avoid being caught off guard; ensure absolute safety for events, especially the inauguration and groundbreaking ceremonies of key projects and the first flight at Long Thanh airport .

Strengthening grassroots engagement and decisively addressing complex issues: increasing patrols and controls in key areas and routes; closely coordinating with military forces to monitor the situation in the region, especially in the eight border communes.

We will vigorously combat emerging types of crime. We will focus on dismantling illegal lending, street crime, high-tech crime; theft, robbery, drug trafficking, social vices, smuggling, commercial fraud, counterfeit goods, prohibited goods, and unsafe food.

Strengthen state management of security and order, and decisively implement plans to ensure traffic safety and fire prevention, especially during the Tet holiday.

Coordinate synchronously and leverage the combined strength of the entire political system; departments, agencies, and localities should closely cooperate with the police force to strengthen propaganda, highlight good people and good deeds, achievements, and results of the peak period.

The emulation and reward program needs to be organized promptly, creating a vibrant atmosphere and encouraging collectives and individuals to achieve many accomplishments and excellently fulfill targets during the peak period.

The first flight is scheduled for December 19, 2025.

Long Thanh Airport, covering 5,000 hectares (located in Long Thanh commune, Dong Nai province), commenced phase 1 on January 5, 2021, with a total investment of VND 336,630 billion (equivalent to USD 16.03 billion) and is divided into 3 phases.

Phase 1 will involve the investment in one runway and one passenger terminal, along with supporting facilities, with a capacity of 25 million passengers per year and 1.2 million tons of cargo per year.

According to the plan, Long Thanh Airport will welcome its first flight on December 19, 2025.
