
In 2026, the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee set out 10 key tasks, emphasizing the promotion of patriotic emulation movements among Catholic compatriots. The Committee will continue to effectively promote major movements such as "Living a good life, upholding moral values," "Peaceful parishes - Exemplary Catholic families," and "Catholic communities participating in environmental protection and climate change adaptation"; while also expanding advanced models in social welfare, poverty reduction, environmental protection, and community digital transformation.
In addition, the Committee strengthens coordination with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to mobilize religious leaders, officials, clergy, and lay people to participate in social, charitable, educational , and health programs; and coordinates with dioceses, deaneries, and parishes to spread the spirit of love and service, making positive contributions to the patriotic emulation movement and community development.
The Catholic Solidarity Committees at all levels will promote the application of information technology, strengthen the dissemination of information about exemplary individuals and good deeds among Catholics; streamline personnel and consolidate the organizational system towards efficiency; develop a draft amendment to the Charter to suit the organizational model after the merger and the requirements of the new phase; issue a set of criteria for establishing Catholic Solidarity Committees at the commune, ward, and town levels to unify activities at the grassroots level; and strengthen the training and selection of young, reputable personnel with the ability to mobilize the masses…
In 2025, the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee will continue to affirm its role as a reliable bridge between Catholic compatriots and the Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front, contributing to strengthening national unity. The patriotic emulation movement within the Catholic community will not only be maintained but will also develop more extensively, diversely, and substantively. The spirit of living the Gospel in the heart of the nation, "respecting God and loving the country," is vividly demonstrated through tens of thousands of practical actions throughout the country. The Catholic Solidarity Committees at all levels will promote the spirit of living a good life and upholding moral values, emphasizing that good Catholics are also good citizens, thereby encouraging participation in government building and social oversight, and strengthening the close relationship between the government, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and religious communities.
Following the merger of provinces and cities and the implementation of a two-tiered local government model, the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee has completed the reorganization of its structure, reducing it to 25 provincial and city-level Catholic Solidarity Committees.
The conference approved the proposal to consolidate the personnel of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee for the 2023-2028 term, and discussed the establishment of Catholic Solidarity Committees in communes, wards, and special zones. On this occasion, 19 collectives and 8 individuals with outstanding achievements in 2025 were awarded certificates of merit by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee.

At the meeting celebrating Christmas 2025, the Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Phong City, Pham Van Lap, acknowledged and highly appreciated the important contributions of Catholic compatriots and the Catholic Solidarity Committees at all levels to the overall development of the city. The Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee stated that the Party and State consistently uphold the policy of respecting and guaranteeing the freedom of belief and religion of the people; paying attention to and creating favorable conditions for religions to operate stably and in accordance with the law; promoting good moral and cultural values, and making positive contributions to social life. This is also the city's overarching direction.
The Deputy Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee expressed his confidence and hope that the religious leaders, officials, and Catholic people of the city would uphold the tradition of "respecting God and loving the country," live virtuous lives, be united and charitable, actively participate in patriotic emulation movements, and work together with the city to achieve development goals, maintain the national unity of the people, and build a more civilized and modern Hai Phong.
