Meeting and commending outstanding volunteers in relief work.

On the morning of December 12th, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Red Cross Society held a meeting to commend outstanding volunteers who participated in relief efforts for people affected by Typhoon No. 11 (Matmo) in 2025. Nearly 100 volunteers representing various forces involved in supporting the relief efforts attended the meeting.

Due to the impact of Typhoon No. 11 and its aftermath, the province experienced prolonged heavy rainfall, causing severe flooding in many areas, resulting in significant loss of life and property, and seriously affecting the lives of thousands of households. Many localities were isolated, lacking essential supplies and clean water. In response to this situation, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee issued Plan No. 27/KH-MTTQ-BTT dated October 8, 2025, on receiving and distributing relief goods and funds to mitigate the consequences of the natural disaster.

During the peak of the relief effort, the mobilization and coordination of resources were carried out urgently and flexibly. The Provincial Red Cross directly advised, received, and distributed relief supplies to the affected localities and units.

As of 11:30 AM on November 22, 2025, the Association had received support from 131 charitable groups nationwide, with a total value of over 25.3 billion VND. The Association's fundraising efforts alone received over 463 tons of essential goods and necessities, valued at over 19.1 billion VND.

In addition, the Association has connected with many charitable groups to provide direct cash assistance to more than 7,000 people severely affected in the following localities: Dong Hy, Kha Son, Linh Son, Gia Sang, Vinh Thong, Van Lang, Than Sa, Van Han, Phan Dinh Phung…

At the meeting, the volunteers shared their feelings and experiences during the relief efforts, and also contributed ideas to improve the effectiveness of future activities.
