DNO - After 15 years of implementing Directive No. 48-CT/TW, crime prevention and control in Da Nang city has achieved many outstanding results. These achievements not only contribute to maintaining security and order but also create a stable and favorable environment for socio-economic development, ensuring that people's lives are increasingly improved.

With decisive action, crime was brought under control.

According to Colonel Nguyen Van Tang, Deputy Director of the City Police, the implementation of Directive 48-CT/TW of the Politburo has been decisively directed by Party committees and authorities at all levels. The City Police force has proactively advised and effectively implemented strategies and programs for crime prevention and control.

Numerous intensive campaigns and crackdowns were launched, focusing on specific themes; many dangerous gangs, drug trafficking rings, and major economic crimes were dismantled and dealt with strictly according to the principle of "no forbidden zones, no exceptions."

According to statistics from 2011 to the present, authorities have investigated and solved 14,592 out of 17,687 cases; arrested 20,497 suspects; and dismantled 1,499 criminal gangs and groups with 5,966 members.

Simultaneously, the police force compiled dossiers to send 247 individuals to compulsory education facilities, 160 individuals to reform schools, and 629 individuals to compulsory drug rehabilitation centers. Many economic, corruption, and abuse of power cases were initiated for investigation.

These figures reflect the decisive and comprehensive involvement of the entire political system, while ensuring that crime prevention and control efforts achieve the highest possible effectiveness.

Colonel Nguyen Van Tang emphasized that, thanks to the close coordination of Party committees, authorities, police forces, and the entire population, the security and order situation in the city has always been stable, preventing any sudden or unexpected incidents, making a significant contribution to socio-economic development and exceeding annual targets for crime prevention and control.

Local authorities are taking decisive action.

At the grassroots level, localities are also implementing many coordinated measures to control and prevent crime.

The Thạnh Bình Commune Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term identified drug prevention, control, and suppression as a key, breakthrough task that needs to be implemented decisively to mobilize the entire political system and the people to build Thạnh Bình into a "drug-free commune" by 2030.

To achieve the above objective, the Standing Committee of the Commune Party Committee focused on leading Party organizations, government agencies, the Fatherland Front, and mass organizations to strengthen propaganda and mobilization efforts to encourage cadres, Party members, and the people to participate in drug prevention, control, and combating.

Preventive measures were implemented flexibly, tailored to each target group and residential area. Local authorities have outlined key solutions to prevent crime, drug abuse, and manage post-rehabilitation addicts, including: strengthening the leadership role of the Party, the management of the government, and the coordination of the Fatherland Front and mass organizations; managing and rehabilitating addicts; mobilizing families to support voluntary rehabilitation; and creating jobs for reformed individuals.

In Hoa Cuong ward, the favorable geographical location and high population density make crime prevention and control crucial. The area currently has 21 state-owned enterprises, over 2,600 non-state enterprises, and 1,663 boarding houses, attracting a large number of students and temporary workers. This leads to numerous security and order risks such as high-tech crime, theft, disturbances, and especially the gathering of young people for street racing and carrying weapons.

According to Ho Thuyen, Secretary of the Hoa Cuong Ward Party Committee, in implementing Directive No. 48-CT/TW, the ward has strengthened the leadership role of the Party Committee, promoted the strength of the political system, with the police force playing a core role. Propaganda work has been linked to issues affecting people's lives such as employment, support for poor households, and management of juvenile delinquency.

The fight against drug-related crimes has been significantly intensified. Specifically in 2025, the police force investigated and clarified: 27 cases involving 55 individuals; detected 12 cases involving 24 individuals committing drug-related crimes, prosecuted 9 cases involving 19 individuals, conducted 222 drug tests on individuals; and deterred, reformed, and educated 285 criminal offenders under supervision...

In the coming period, the ward will continue to enhance the responsibility of its leaders, replicate effective crime prevention models, strengthen inspection and supervision, apply technology in local management, and promote the nationwide movement to protect national security.

At the recent conference summarizing 15 years of implementing Directive No. 48-CT/TW, City Party Secretary Le Ngoc Quang affirmed that crime prevention and control is a key, strategic, continuous, and long-term political task of the entire Party, army, and people.

This work is of great importance in building and rectifying the Party, consolidating clean and strong mass organizations, creating a stable and healthy social environment, serving socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security, and foreign affairs.

According to the City Party Secretary, the implementation method must closely combine prevention and suppression, focusing on prevention, paying attention to the family and grassroots levels, and mobilizing the combined strength of the political system and the entire society to participate, creating a sustainable foundation for crime prevention and control.

Over the past 15 years, the achievements have affirmed that strengthening the Party's leadership in crime prevention and control not only maintains security and order but also makes a significant contribution to socio-economic stability and development, and builds a peaceful life for the people.
