Speaking at the event, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Tan Van Vuong, said that Da Nang had just been selected by a prestigious US travel magazine as the only representative of Vietnam in the list of 26 "destinations to visit in 2026".

This award is based on attractive landscapes, tourism services linked to healing trends, local culture, and modern experiences. These factors also align with the growing demand from Muslim tourists for a safe, friendly destination that fully meets their religious requirements, thereby opening up favorable opportunities for Da Nang to boost the development of the Muslim tourism market in the future.

According to Mr. Vuong, the National Project on the Development of the Halal Industry until 2030, approved by the Prime Minister , has created an important impetus for expanding the Halal ecosystem, with Halal tourism being one of the areas targeted for strong development.

Da Nang is implementing various activities to build an image of a tourist destination friendly to Muslim visitors, from cuisine and services to tourism experiences that meet international standards.

Currently, the city has approximately 40 Halal or Indian restaurants serving Muslim customers; more than 10 establishments have been certified Halal; over 100 vegetarian restaurants and more than 500 seafood restaurants with menus and service styles suitable for Muslims.

Many hotels and restaurants have also adjusted their menus to meet the needs of Middle Eastern and CIS guests. During major international events such as ABG5 2016, APEC High-Level Week 2017, and the Southeast Asian School Games 2024, Da Nang has welcomed and served a large number of Muslim tourists, thereby building experience and a foundation for market expansion.

In the first 11 months of 2025, the city intensified its efforts to promote and connect potential markets such as Indonesia, Malaysia, the CIS, and the Middle East, while effectively utilizing direct and charter flights.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Da Nang has sufficient potential in food, seafood, and OCOP products to develop Halal services; it also possesses a system of accommodation, entertainment, and tourist attractions that meet standards, ready to serve the specific needs of Muslim tourists.

The city is focusing on three key solution groups: Forming a chain of services friendly to Muslim tourists, aiming to become a reputable destination in the region; developing specialized Halal tourism products such as family vacation tours, nature and landscape tours, shopping and distinctive cuisine;

Develop a diverse system of hotels and restaurants that are certified or meet criteria for being friendly to Muslim tourists, while also possessing a team of experienced, trained staff ready to serve according to the specific needs of this market;

Arrange prayer spaces at airports, tourist destinations, and shopping malls; upgrade restrooms, washing areas, and related facilities to maximize convenience for travelers.

Experts, speakers, and businesses engaged in in-depth discussions on solutions for developing the Halal ecosystem in Da Nang.

At the seminar, experts, speakers, and businesses exchanged and discussed in depth solutions for developing the Halal ecosystem in Da Nang. They also shared experiences from several world-renowned destinations for Muslim-friendly tourism; how to build a chain of tourism products and services suitable for Muslims; the quality of service, cuisine, and human resources serving Muslims in hotels; the human factor and honesty in service provision; and the importance of Halal food supply sources…

Information presented at the seminar indicated that in 2026, travel agencies such as Anex Tour and Crystal Bay plan to open more direct flights from the Russian Federation and CIS countries to Da Nang, with a frequency of approximately 70 flights per month, equivalent to 10,000 passengers per month – nearly double compared to 2025.

The proportion of 4-5 star hotels serving this segment is also expected to increase to 70-80%, contributing to expanding guest capacity and attracting high-spending customers.

Leaders of the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism expect that through the seminar, experts and businesses will propose many solutions and share international experiences to improve the Halal ecosystem, aiming to build the brand "Da Nang - A tourist destination friendly to Muslim tourists" in the coming years.
