Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism Nguyen Tran Quang emphasized that Hanoi – a land of a thousand years of civilization – is not only known for its history and cultural depth, but also for its rich system of traditional craft villages, ancient craft streets, and sophisticated cuisine . Each craft village, each product, each dish contains its own story, imbued with the cultural values of the capital city and the skillful hands of the people of Hanoi.

According to Mr. Quang, Hanoi currently has more than 1,350 craft villages and villages with traditional crafts, many of which have gained international recognition. In particular, Bat Trang pottery village and Van Phuc silk village have been recognized by the World Craft Council in the Global Network of Creative Craft Villages. This is clear evidence of the enduring vitality and creativity of the capital's artisans. For many years, Hanoi has also been voted by international organizations as one of the cities with the most attractive culinary scenes in the world, further solidifying its position as a leading destination in Asia.
Mr. Nguyen Tran Quang stated that the Hanoi Traditional Craft Village and Street Food and Tourism Festival 2025 is an important promotional activity aimed at honoring the quintessential values of traditional craft villages and streets, and promoting distinctive tourism products associated with culinary culture. The event also serves as a bridge between management agencies, businesses, artisans, and the community within the tourism value chain, working towards building an image of Hanoi as "safe, friendly, high-quality, and attractive."

This year's festival is held on an area of approximately 5,000 m² with nearly 80 booths, divided into three large experiential spaces. The "Traditional Craft Villages Telling Stories of the Past and Present" space showcases typical traditional craft villages of Hanoi such as Bat Trang pottery, Van Phuc silk, Chuong conical hats, Chang Son fans, Ha Thai lacquerware, Thuy Ung horn combs, Phu Vinh rattan and bamboo weaving, Quang Phu Cau incense sticks, Phung Xa weaving, and Chuyen My mother-of-pearl inlay and lacquerware.
The two craft villages of Bat Trang and Van Phuc – members of the World Creative Cities Network – become the highlight. Visitors can explore the traditional craft streets of Hanoi through a recreated space of Hang Ma Street with models, artifacts, Tet decorations, clay figurines, Hang Trong paintings, etc.




The "Timeless Flavors of the Past" space offers a culinary journey through Hanoi. Cultural booths in the model of ancient houses are recreated; the West Lake lotus tea space, along with a series of famous specialties such as Vong sticky rice cakes, Thanh Tri rice rolls, Phu Thuong sticky rice, Uoc Le pork sausage, Phung spring rolls, Hoang Mai sticky rice cakes, Trang Tien ice cream; beef pho, bun cha, bun oc, shrimp cakes, egg coffee, Hanoi draft beer… create a complete culinary picture of Hanoi's flavors.
At the "Stroll Through Hanoi" area, visitors can admire models of iconic landmarks of the capital city such as Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Temple of Literature, One Pillar Pagoda, Long Bien Bridge, Hoan Kiem Lake - Turtle Tower, Ngoc Son Temple - The Huc Bridge, Tran Quoc Pagoda, Co Loa Ancient Citadel, Hanoi Opera House, etc. This is also a popular check-in area for young people and international tourists. At the same time, many travel agencies introduce new tours, promotional programs, and unique tourism products of Hanoi.

In addition to the main activities, the festival also organizes many programs offering experiences in traditional crafts, interactions with artisans, culinary demonstrations, and artistic performances for the public.
