On December 12th, the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) announced that it is focusing all its efforts on ensuring the success and safety of the first official flight landing at Long Thanh Airport on December 19th.
Specifically, ACV is currently mobilizing more than 15,000 engineers and workers (an increase of more than 1,000 people compared to the beginning of November 2025) and more than 3,000 machines and equipment to work "3 shifts, 4 teams," day and night at the Long Thanh airport construction site.
Priority will be given to completing key items such as runway 1, taxiways, aircraft parking areas, and the installation of passenger terminal equipment…
At runway number 1, contractors are working to complete surface drainage channels, anti-slip coatings, expansion joint sealing, line painting, and general cleaning.
Last night, December 11-12, the entire aviation lighting and signage system on runway 1 was successfully operational and functioning stably.
This is a navigational aid system that meets the CAT II standard of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
Accordingly, the system is installed along the 4km length of the runway and 1.8km of the approach ramp area at both ends of the runway (900m long at each end). Medium voltage power is supplied to the airfield to power the In-Land Navigation System (ILS/DME) and the Automatic Weather Observation System (AWOS).

At the passenger terminal – the heart of Long Thanh Airport – construction is now largely complete, with the installation of glass walls and steel structures. Engineers and workers are now rushing to install equipment.
In addition, the units have transported 26 sets of jet bridges to the construction site (out of 64 sets for the entire terminal), and are currently installing 16 sets. They have also transported 53 out of 57 checked baggage screening devices and 145 out of 256 carry-on baggage screening devices to the construction site, and are currently installing the screening machines and security screening equipment.
100 VDGS (vehicle docking guidance systems) have been transported to the construction site (reaching nearly 80% completion). The contractor is urgently constructing the support structures and installing equipment at various gate locations. Installation and completion of the baggage handling system, escalators, staircases, and elevators are also being expedited.

Meanwhile, the aircraft parking area has completed the drainage system and the basement for ground service equipment; the ground structure is basically complete, and the cement concrete layer is under construction. For the connecting road, the contractor is urgently planting trees, installing lighting systems, and signage…
According to ACV, on December 12th, the relevant units successfully energized the power receiving station to the Long Thanh Airport Power Center and then energized five passenger terminal power stations from this center.
"This is a significant milestone, ensuring a stable energy supply for the airport now and in the future," ACV stated.
