However, Huy Hoang was not satisfied with his performance: "This is my first individual medal at this Games. Although I won a gold medal in my strongest event, the result was not as good as I hoped. I would like to apologize to all the fans who have shown interest and support."
"I will try to maintain my confidence to perform better and contribute to national sports in the upcoming events," the swimmer from Quang Binh shared.

Explaining the decline in performance compared to his usual form, Huy Hoang said he experienced a problem with his competition attire and the water in the pool was a bit cold.
In addition, Huy Hoang had many words of praise for his younger teammate Mai Tran Tuan Anh, who had just won a silver medal in the same event.
"I'm very happy because Tuan Anh is a younger brother and teammate who has trained with me since 2016-2017. His silver medal is a source of hope for Vietnamese sports . Tuan Anh is a talented young athlete," said Huy Hoang.

Nguyen Huy Hoang's next goal at this SEA Games is to put all his effort into fighting his hardest to win another gold medal in the 400m freestyle event.
