On the third day of competition at the 2025 SEA Games (December 12th), the Thai sports delegation continued to assert its position as the host nation by significantly outpacing the other delegations in the overall medal standings.
Accordingly, Thailand won a total of 137 medals, including 66 gold medals, 43 silver medals, and 28 bronze medals. On December 12 alone, the host nation's sports delegation won 25 gold medals, more than the Vietnamese delegation, currently ranked second in the overall medal standings, had won in the past three days.

Accordingly, as of 11 PM on December 12th, the Vietnamese sports delegation had won a total of 84 medals, including 24 gold medals, 17 silver medals, and 43 bronze medals. On this particular day, Vietnamese athletes strived to win 10 gold medals, 6 silver medals, and 11 bronze medals.
Le Thi Mong Tuyen and Nguyen Tam Quang opened the gold medal tally for the Vietnamese sports delegation on the third day of competition in the 10m mixed rifle team event. Following that, many athletes shone with consecutive gold medals from Nguyen Thi Huong and Ma Thi Thuy (canoeing), Bac Thi Khiem (taekwondo), and Khuat Hai Nam (karate).

Gymnast Dinh Phuong Thanh won the gold medal in the men's parallel bars, while pétanque made its mark with two gold medals in the men's and women's doubles events. In athletics, Nguyen Thi Ngoc made her mark with a gold medal in the women's 400m.
In the evening, two swimmers, Nguyen Quang Thuan (men's 400m individual medley) and Nguyen Huy Hoang (men's 1500m freestyle), excellently won gold medals.
The third day of competition also saw the Indonesian sports delegation continue to closely follow Vietnam, winning an additional 7 gold medals, bringing their total to 20 and maintaining their third position in the overall standings. The following positions are held by Singapore, the Philippines, Malaysia, Myanmar, and Laos. Notably, two delegations, Brunei and Timor-Leste, have yet to win any gold medals.
Tomorrow (December 13th), the 33rd SEA Games will see an additional 62 gold medals awaiting winners. The Vietnamese sports delegation will continue its efforts to consolidate its second position on the overall medal table.
