Malaysian swimmer emotionally praises sisters Anh Vien and Quang Thuan: "Absolutely amazing!"

Malaysian swimmer Khai Xin Tan called Nguyen Quang Thuan a rising star, sincerely exclaiming "amazing" about the story of him and his sister Anh Vien contributing to Vietnamese swimming.

Quang Thuan's solo performance

The swimming pool at the Rajamangala National Stadium sports complex witnessed brilliant moments from swimmers from Southeast Asia. Particularly on the night of December 12th, the duo Quang Thuan and Hung Nguyen won the gold and silver medals respectively, while Khai Xin Tan took home the bronze.

Notably, Quang Thuan delivered a solo performance, finishing first with a time of 4 minutes 19 seconds 98, far ahead of his teammates Hung Nguyen and Khai Xin Tan, who achieved times of 4 minutes 25 seconds 45 and 4 minutes 25 seconds 98 respectively.

After the competition, the swimmer from Malaysia showered praise on the impressive performance of the duo Quang Thuan and Hung Nguyen: "Today, I am very happy to have been able to stand on the podium to receive the award. You know, the two Vietnamese athletes are really strong."

I've competed against them in almost three SEA Games already. I know they're very fast, and I just try my best to keep up with them as much as possible. I'm really tired today.

I gave it my all. I just needed to make sure I could get on the podium to receive the award, and I'm so happy I did. I practiced very hard every day, and it paid off."

At the 33rd SEA Games, Quang Thuan brought home one gold medal in the men's 400m individual medley and one bronze medal in the men's 200m individual medley for the Vietnamese sports delegation.

Khai Xin Tan called Quang Thuan a rising star: "I know today's winner is from Vietnam. Quang Thuan, he is a rising star."

I also know that Quang Thuan is the younger brother of Anh Vien, the very fast female swimmer. It's wonderful that Quang Thuan has a sister who is also a swimmer; he has a role model to follow.

Ánh Viên can give him very good advice. I think that has helped him achieve his goals. So, I'm really happy for him."
