Regarding Nguyen A's exceptional photographic skills at the exchange event, Major General - Associate Professor - Doctor Nguyen Hong Son recounted: "During the extremely harsh Covid-19 period, amidst the life-or-death situation, photographer Nguyen A was always by our side, accompanying our medical team in the wards to capture the most authentic and moving images."
"I am also suggesting to the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Photography Association - photographer Doan Hoai Trung - to organize an exhibition of photographs about these stories soon. Although the past is painful, we should look at it with a different approach. In the midst of this century's pandemic, the word 'compatriots' is incredibly sacred and a source of pride," said Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Hong Son.

A message from photographer Nguyen A
Regarding the reasons for the swift publication of his 24th photo book, " 80 Years - A Confident Vietnam ," photographer Nguyen A shared: "Many places I've visited, from remote areas like Lang Nu (Lao Cai), Lung Cu ( Ha Giang , now Tuyen Quang), Quang Tri, to coastal and island regions from the North to the South, all the way to Ca Mau Cape, have left indelible impressions on my mind. This is also an endless source of inspiration for me to release this photo book, a collection of images taken over many years and, especially, from my more than one-month experience during the A80 campaign in Hanoi."
The book is very valuable, with a cover featuring an image of an elderly woman radiant in the red of the national flag amidst a sea of people celebrating a festival. According to photographer Doan Hoai Trung: "Her gentle smile, her outstretched arms as if wanting to embrace the joy of the nation, her eyes sparkling with pride—all of this makes the viewer feel a radiating energy: the energy of patriotism, optimism, and faith in the future."

"The elderly woman is not just an ordinary person. She is the image of a generation that has gone through war, hardship, and the changes of history. And today, amidst the enthusiastic young people who are beating in unison with the nation, her image becomes a bridge between the past and the present, a testament to the enduring vitality of the Vietnamese spirit throughout eight decades," Mr. Doan Hoai Trung shared.
"The book '80 Years – A Confident Vietnam' is dedicated to honoring the heroes of our country, those who sacrificed their lives for the independence and freedom of the nation. Through this photo book, I record many touching stories about the warm bond between the military and the people, images of Uncle Ho's soldiers who, undeterred by difficulties and hardships, helped the people during natural disasters and floods, with the message: let's cherish the values of peaceful life and always have faith in a beautiful and increasingly prosperous future for Vietnam," said photographer Nguyen A.
