" THE BOY OF ANH VIEN ' STEP INTO THE LIGHT'"
In the swimming pool, 19-year-old swimmer Nguyen Quang Thuan brilliantly defeated his senior teammate Tran Hung Nguyen to win the gold medal in the men's 400m individual medley. In the two previous SEA Games, Nguyen Thi Anh Vien's younger brother had to settle for second place because Tran Hung Nguyen was at the peak of his career. Through continuous training and honing his competitive spirit, Nguyen Quang Thuan has "stepped into the spotlight" with his first gold medal. On the medal podium, Tran Hung Nguyen happily embraced his younger teammate to congratulate him. From now on, Quang Thuan will shoulder a new responsibility for the Vietnamese swimming team in international competitions.

In the 1,500m freestyle, 25-year-old swimmer Nguyen Huy Hoang affirmed his talent by winning the gold medal for the fifth consecutive time. However, the performance of 19-year-old Mai Tran Tuan Anh, who finished second, reassured Vietnamese fans about the next generation. He unleashed his power, overtaking his opponents and fiercely chasing his senior, Nguyen Huy Hoang, in the final stretch of the 1,500m freestyle final.
HIGHLIGHTS IN ATHLETICS AND SHOOTING
At the 2023 SEA Games, Vietnam's athletics team missed out on the gold medal in the women's 400m event, losing to Malaysia. This time in Thailand, Nguyen Thi Ngoc helped Vietnam successfully "get revenge" by making a strong start and finishing first, winning the gold medal. With Nguyen Thi Ngoc, Vietnam's athletics team can rest assured about the next generation of athletes to succeed their predecessors Nguyen Thi Huyen and Quach Thi Lan.

Nguyen Thi Ngoc is outstanding.

Mong Tuyen and Tam Quang defeated the Thais.
In shooting, Le Thi Mong Tuyen and Nguyen Tam Quang made their mark by winning the gold medal in the 10m air rifle mixed event. The two Vietnamese shooters triumphed dramatically after competing against the host country's athletes from Thailand. Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh, head of the Vietnamese sports delegation, broke down in tears of joy witnessing the tremendous effort that brought success to Le Thi Mong Tuyen and Nguyen Tam Quang in an event that is not their forte. For the pretty shooter Mong Tuyen, this prestigious gold medal gives her more confidence to aim for gold in the following events.
K ASSERTS STRENGTH
Nguyen Thi Huong won her second gold medal in canoeing after a nail-biting final race. She and her teammate Ma Thi Thuy were initially at a disadvantage compared to their opponents, but they made an incredible surge, crossing the finish line almost simultaneously with the Thai pair. After reviewing the technical footage, the judges confirmed the victory belonged to the two Vietnamese athletes.

Dinh Phuong Thanh won the gold medal in the parallel bars with a superior score.
