Swimming enters its fourth day of competition, with the highlight being the performance of swimmer Nguyen Huy Hoang in the 200m freestyle. This is the event in which he won a bronze medal at the 2023 SEA Games with a fairly good time. However, Vietnam's number one swimmer will have to compete against very strong opponents from Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Huy Hoang will compete in the qualifying round starting at 9 am, followed by the final at 6 pm.

Having won four gold medals at the previous SEA Games, Nguyen Thi Oanh has decided to participate in only three events this time: the 5,000m, 3,000m steeplechase, and 10,000m. Her goal is to win all three gold medals for Vietnamese athletics.
