On December 12th, the Departments of Education and Training of Dak Lak and Gia Lai provinces, in collaboration with Petrovietnam and Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company (BSR), inaugurated STEM rooms at Buon Ma Thuot High School and Nguyen Du Secondary School. These are two of the 100 STEM rooms sponsored by Petrovietnam under the Petrovietnam STEM Innovation program – a national-scale education initiative launched by Petrovietnam.

"Nurturing talent" in science and technology in Dak Lak province.
In Dak Lak , Petrovietnam's STEM Innovation program has sponsored the construction of STEM rooms in schools such as Luong The Vinh Secondary School (Tan An ward), Nguyen Hue High School (Tuy Hoa ward), and Buon Ma Thuot High School (Buon Ma Thuot ward). The total funding provided to Dak Lak province for Petrovietnam's STEM Innovation program is 10.5 billion VND. These STEM rooms are equipped with internationally standardized equipment and utilize science and technology, providing teachers and students with modern and creative teaching and learning experiences.
Buon Ma Thuot High School is one of three schools that received funding from Petrovietnam to build a STEM room with a budget of 3.5 billion VND. After being put into operation, the STEM room has helped students easily access modern learning equipment such as robotics kits, programming tools, scientific models, and experimental equipment for natural science and technology subjects. The inauguration of the STEM room at Buon Ma Thuot High School on this occasion holds even deeper significance for teachers and students on the occasion of the school's 70th anniversary (December 21, 1955 – December 21, 2025).

Speaking at the program, Mr. Le Manh Hung – Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Petrovietnam – stated that STEM education is one of the most advanced forms of education today, integrating education with practical application and allowing students to access multiple fields simultaneously. The STEM education model will support schools and students in accessing the world faster; connecting with the community and the nation; and innovating rapidly according to international standards. This is also a method of innovation in the education system that Petrovietnam is actively participating in to contribute to.
“Petrovietnam is not only supporting the implementation of STEM classroom construction programs but also coordinating with the Ministry of Education and Training and Vietnam Television to digitize and synthesize results, periodically updating them to build a database on STEM education technology. Through this, Petrovietnam aims for the larger goal of gradually improving Vietnam's production level,” Comrade Le Manh Hung emphasized.

At the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Pham Huy Van, Deputy Director of the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training, remarked that the commissioning of the STEM room, funded by Petrovietnam, demonstrates a high sense of responsibility and special attention to nurturing young talents in science, technology, and engineering. Simultaneously, this helps the school concretize the goals of the 2018 General Education Program. The STEM room will be a creative space, allowing students to easily explore and create products with high practical applications.

Bringing STEM education closer to students in Gia Lai.
In Gia Lai , the STEM room at Nguyen Du Secondary School was also inaugurated amidst the joy and excitement of the students. The STEM room was funded by Petrovietnam and is equipped with modern learning equipment, scientific models, and advanced experimental tools.

Mr. Bui Huu Nghia, Principal of Nguyen Du Secondary School, shared: "The STEM classroom has helped students have the opportunity to experience, enhance their learning process, and access advanced technologies. The school is very fortunate to have Petrovietnam support us with a modern STEM classroom. This is extremely valuable." On behalf of the school, Mr. Bui Huu Nghia sincerely thanked Petrovietnam, the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, and the Department of Education and Training for creating the conditions for the school to have a modern STEM classroom, helping students and teachers improve the effectiveness of teaching and learning.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the STEM Education Practice Room at Nguyen Du Secondary School, Mr. Nguyen Huu Que, Vice Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, affirmed that this is an important milestone in bringing STEM education closer to local students. It also clearly demonstrates Petrovietnam's social responsibility and strategic vision in developing future human resources.

The leaders of Gia Lai province also expressed their gratitude to Petrovietnam for selecting Gia Lai as one of the 34 beneficiary localities and for implementing the project professionally, equipping classrooms to international standards. Mr. Que also requested Petrovietnam and BSR to continue their partnership through teacher training, connecting the national STEM network, and organizing experiential activities for students. In addition, Mr. Que requested the province's Education Department to continue developing a unified STEM program, effectively utilizing equipment, maintaining STEM clubs, and integrating activities into the general education curriculum. The Provincial People's Committee committed to prioritizing resources to ensure the sustainable operation and expansion of the model in the future.

On the occasion of the inauguration of the STEM rooms at Buon Ma Thuot High School and Nguyen Du Junior High School, Petrovietnam also awarded many scholarships to underprivileged students who achieved high academic results.

Comrade Tran Quang Dung – Standing Deputy Secretary of the Petrovietnam Party Committee – stated that, stemming from an idea by General Secretary To Lam, Petrovietnam initiated the development of the Petrovietnam STEM Innovation program. This initiative was implemented over 100 days, from September 21st to December 31st, across the country.
“The Petrovietnam STEM Innovation program aims to ensure that students in all regions of the country have access to hands-on STEM education. More importantly, this is an opportunity to help the education sector in general, and schools in particular, to have access to STEM rooms, enabling students to learn through practice, making learning fun and enjoyable.” The official stated that the total cost for the Petrovietnam STEM Innovation program is approximately 500 billion VND and will be implemented in all provinces and cities nationwide. Each province and city will have an average of 3 STEM rooms. To date, construction progress is being closely monitored, and the goal is to complete 100 STEM rooms nationwide by December 31, 2025.

The Petrovietnam STEM Innovation Program is a national-scale educational initiative launched by Petrovietnam, aiming to establish 100 STEM classrooms with modern, scientific teaching models across 34 provinces and cities. Furthermore, the Petrovietnam STEM Innovation Program is also organized to concretize the Politburo's resolutions on innovation and breakthroughs in education and training development. It also demonstrates Petrovietnam's commitment to supporting the country's strategy for developing high-quality human resources in the new era.
