Opening Ceremony of the Provincial Science and Technology Competition and STEM Education Festival for the 2025-2026 school year.

On December 13th, at the Ha Giang Ethnic Minority Boarding High School, the Department of Education and Training organized the opening ceremony of the provincial-level Science and Technology Competition for high school students and the STEM Education Festival for the 2025-2026 school year in the former Ha Giang region.

Attending the opening ceremony were Comrade Vu Dinh Hung, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Education and Training; leaders of the Department of Foreign Affairs; and representatives of the units sponsoring the competition.

The provincial-level Science and Technology Competition and STEM Festival for high school students in the former Ha Giang region took place over two days, from December 13-14, with the participation of 66 schools (22 junior high schools and 40 high schools). The competition featured 69 projects across 11 fields of science and technology, with 138 students participating; including 36 science projects and 43 engineering projects.

Students from Yen Minh High School in Yen Minh commune presented their project to the delegates.

This is a valuable intellectual playground, creating an environment for students to interact, learn, and develop creative thinking and a passion for scientific , technical, and technological research. Through the competition, students can apply their learned knowledge to solve practical problems in life, contributing to the development of self-learning, creativity, teamwork, and scientific presentation and critical thinking skills.

The STEM competition and festival also plays a significant role in promoting innovation in teaching methods, testing, and evaluation, oriented towards developing students' qualities and competencies; encouraging teachers and schools to strengthen the organization of scientific research and STEM education activities in secondary schools. At the same time, it is also an opportunity for the education sector to identify and nurture talented and potential students, creating a pool of participants for national and international science and technology competitions.
