On the third day of competition, the Vietnamese swimming team received a "shower of medals" at the 33rd SEA Games.

On the evening of December 12th at the 33rd SEA Games currently taking place in Thailand, the Vietnamese swimming team had a brilliant day of competition with a "shower" of medals. This included 2 gold medals and 2 bronze medals, won by top swimmers.

On the third day of competition, swimming remained a hot topic as key athletes like Nguyen Huy Hoang, Tran Hung Nguyen, and Nguyen Quang Thuan competed in challenging events.

In the 400m individual medley, Nguyen Quang Thuan claimed the top spot for the first time. The 18-year-old swimmer surpassed his senior teammate Tran Hung Nguyen to win his first SEA Games gold medal. Quang Thuan displayed impressive form, accelerating strongly in the second half of the race and finishing with a time of 4 minutes 18.98 seconds. Tran Hung Nguyen came in second with a time of 4 minutes 25.45 seconds.

In his signature 1,500m freestyle event, swimmer Nguyen Huy Hoang did not disappoint his fans, remaining undefeated in the swimming race and dominating strong competitors from Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia. Huy Hoang completed the long race in a total time of 15 minutes and 19.58 seconds, winning the gold medal. Second place in this event went to athlete Mai Tran Tuan Anh.

In the women's 400m freestyle event, athlete Vo Thi My Tien won the bronze medal with a time of 4 minutes 17.39 seconds. She finished ahead of two strong competitors from Singapore (4 minutes 11.88 seconds) and Thailand (4 minutes 13.56 seconds).

In the men's 4x100m relay, the Vietnamese team won another bronze medal with a time of 3 minutes 41.34 seconds. The Singapore and Thailand teams won the gold and silver medals respectively.

By the end of the third day of competition at the 33rd SEA Games, the Vietnamese swimming team had impressively won 14 medals, including 5 gold medals. This achievement shows an impressive start for the young swimmers, especially considering that at the 32nd SEA Games, Vietnam had won 7 gold medals. This is also a milestone for the team to aim for, determined to continue to break through and surpass their own achievements in this year's Games.
