Workers' Month 2025: Many practical activities, spreading the spirit of innovation among workers.

(PLVN) - With the theme "Vietnamese Workers Pioneering the New Era," trade unions at all levels have organized many diverse, creative activities closely aligned with reality. From guidance and coordination to implementation at the grassroots level, the spirit of innovation is clearly evident in each program.

From the beginning of the year, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor issued a plan and guiding documents, clarifying the five key tasks of the Workers' Month. Local and industry-specific trade union organizations proactively followed the directives, issuing more than 440 implementation documents and assigning officials to directly monitor the implementation results at the grassroots level. By the end of April 2025, over 27,000 grassroots trade unions in the business sector had organized activities in response; 40 localities and sectors achieved 100% participation of grassroots trade unions in the administrative and public service sector.

Innovate thinking and foster creativity among workers.

One of the highlights of this year's Workers' Month was the program "Creative Workers, Confidently Stepping into a New Era". Nationwide, 826 "Creative Days" were organized, attracting more than 152,000 union members and workers. The emulation movements "Excellent Workers - Creative Workers" and "Workers Mastering Science and Technology" continued to be widely promoted.

Many sectors and localities have outstanding models: the Vietnam Education Union organized the exhibition "Creative Journey - Aspiration for Advancement"; the Vietnam Electricity Union launched the "10,000 EVN Initiatives" program and organized more than 100 innovation workshops; the Textile and Garment Union launched the "90 Days of Trial by Fire" emulation campaign to boost productivity. From these activities, hundreds of initiatives were recognized and applied in practice, contributing to improving production and business efficiency in enterprises.

Dialogue to listen to workers

The "May Dialogue" program continues to serve as a bridge between workers and Party committees, government agencies, and businesses. During Workers' Month 2025, trade unions at all levels organized more than 7,300 dialogues, attracting over 545,000 participants and receiving over 26,000 opinions related to employment, wages, social insurance, and working conditions.

Simultaneously, 1,339 forums titled "The Party with Workers - Workers with the Party" were organized, creating a space for workers to contribute their opinions to the draft documents of the Party Congress at all levels, and to promptly reflect the difficulties in their lives and work. Many localities implemented effective models such as "Trade Unions Listening to Workers" (Lam Dong), "Listening - Understanding - Accompanying" (Khanh Hoa), contributing to strengthening workers' trust in trade unions and Party committees.

Providing practical support through the "Thank You to Our Workers" program.

The "Thank You to Workers" program was widely implemented with nearly 4,830 units and businesses participating, carrying out more than 15,800 welfare activities. Over 1.4 million union members and workers received support with a total budget of over 265 billion VND. More than 1,000 "Trade Union Shelter" houses were newly built or renovated; welfare programs benefited over 1.2 million union members with a total value of over 300 billion VND.

In addition, cultural and sports activities were vibrant with over 20,000 events, attracting more than 10 million participants. Many humanitarian models continued to be maintained, such as "Workers' Meal Program" (Ha Tinh), "Charity Market" (Tra Vinh), and "Mid-Year Family Reunion Tet" (Bac Lieu), contributing to caring for the spiritual lives and creating cohesion within the labor community.

Orientation for organizing activities during the upcoming Workers' Month

In the new context, the Vietnam Trade Union organization has determined to continue comprehensive reforms to enhance the effectiveness of Workers' Month, strongly arousing the self-reliance and self-improvement spirit of the working class. Trade unions at all levels will focus on seven major orientations:

Firstly, innovate the content and methods of organization in a practical and effective manner, focusing on the workers and closely adhering to the requirements from the grassroots level.

Secondly, we must promote comprehensive and sustainable care; improve the welfare, working conditions, and spiritual well-being of union members.

Thirdly, elevate the movement for excellent and innovative labor, encouraging workers to be pioneers in science and technology and digital transformation.

Fourth, effectively promote dialogue forums between the Party, the State, businesses, and workers; and improve the quality of collective bargaining.

Fifth, strengthen political, legal, and skills education and dissemination; spread modern worker culture.

Sixth, promote the development of union membership and build a strong trade union organization, while simultaneously identifying and nurturing outstanding union members for the Party.

Seventh, tighten discipline and order in leadership and management; ensure the progress, effectiveness, and quality of implementation.

With the achievements made and the clear direction set, Workers' Month continues to affirm its importance as a milestone of the year, demonstrating the role of the Vietnam Trade Union in accompanying, caring for, and promoting the pioneering role of the working class in the new era.
