Coach Tesuro Uki announced his resignation just hours after the Myanmar women's team lost 0-2 to Vietnam in the final match of Group B at the SEA Games 33 on the evening of December 11th.
This defeat cost Myanmar their place in the semi-finals, even though a draw would have sufficed. The Myanmar Football Federation confirmed the resignation and expressed their gratitude to coach Tesuro Uki.
At the post-match press conference, the Japanese coach admitted that the team "collapsed too early" after conceding two goals in the first 15 minutes, leading to psychological instability and a disrupted playing style. Nevertheless, he thanked his players for their fighting spirit until the end of the match.
Before the match between the Vietnamese and Myanmar women's teams, they were the only team with 6 points in Group B, holding the biggest advantage in the race to qualify for the semi-finals, needing only a draw against Coach Mai Duc Chung's team to secure a spot. Unfortunately, Myanmar lost 0-2, failing to maintain their advantage and being defeated by the Vietnamese women's team.

The Vietnamese women's team won 2-0 against Myanmar to advance to the semi-finals as group winners.
The defeat against Vietnam concludes Myanmar's incomplete journey under the Japanese strategist. Despite winning a silver medal at the 2023 SEA Games, the Nepal Friendly Cup, and finishing as runners-up in the 2025 AFF Cup, the team has suffered consecutive failures in the Olympic qualifiers, the Asian Cup, and now the 2025 SEA Games.
Following the final two group stage matches of the SEA Games 33 women's football tournament, the two semi-final pairings have been determined: Group A winner Thailand vs. the Philippines, and Group B winner Vietnam vs. Indonesia. Both semi-final matches will take place on December 14th.
