In a press release, the Ministry of Education and Training stated that immediately after receiving applications from several students requesting recognition of degrees awarded to them by Liverpool John Moores University (UK), the Quality Management Department of the Ministry of Education and Training responded in writing, clearly stating that the university degrees awarded to these students by Liverpool John Moores University did not meet the requirements for recognition under current regulations.

Subsequently, the Ministry of Education and Training received further information from the press regarding the recognition of diplomas and joint training activities related to the London College of Design and Fashion. Therefore, on the morning of December 12th, representatives from the Ministry's specialized units (Department of Quality Management, Department of International Cooperation, Department of Higher Education , Department of Vocational Education and Continuing Education, and the Ministry's Office) met to review, discuss, and agree on a course of action to advise the Ministry's leadership.

Based on the available records, documents, and information, and in comparison with current legal regulations, the relevant specialized units of the Ministry have found this to be a complex issue involving multiple legal entities (London College of Fashion - Hanoi Co., Ltd.; London Academy of Design and Fashion in Hanoi); London College of Design and Fashion; Liverpool John Moores University… Furthermore, the case shows signs of not complying with current regulations on international training partnerships.

Therefore, the Ministry of Education and Training recognizes the need to continue requesting relevant agencies, organizations, and individuals to report and provide more information on the training activities, joint training programs, and diploma issuance of the London College of Design and Fashion. This will help the Ministry of Education and Training verify and clarify the issues raised by the press and students.

The Ministry of Education and Training is also considering establishing an inspection team to conduct a comprehensive review of the activities of the London College of Design and Fashion within the scope of the Ministry's state management.

The press release stated: "The Ministry of Education and Training affirms that it will handle the case in accordance with the law, strictly address any violations (if any) within its authority; and at the same time ensure the legitimate rights and interests of students based on full compliance with current regulations."

The Ministry of Education and Training sincerely thanks the press agencies for their timely reporting and information provision, and will closely cooperate and provide timely information to the press agencies when verification and handling results are available."

This morning, in an interview with Thanh Nien Newspaper, a representative from the Ministry of Education and Training stated that the London College of Design and Fashion has not been granted a license to operate joint training programs with foreign institutions for any of its programs. Therefore, the diplomas awarded by Liverpool John Moores University to students who completed the joint training program between the London College of Design and Fashion and Liverpool John Moores University are not recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training.
