Lam Dong aims to develop a professional innovation and startup ecosystem.

On the morning of December 11th, the Department of Science and Technology of Lam Dong province organized a conference to summarize the innovation and startup ecosystem for the period 2021-2025.

Representatives from departments, agencies, associations, organizations, and units, along with a large number of students, young entrepreneurs, and young businesses in the area, attended the event.

The conference aims to comprehensively assess the results of the implementation of the Project to support the innovation and startup ecosystem over the past five years; recognize outstanding startup models, solutions, and projects; honor organizations and individuals who have made positive contributions; and simultaneously set goals and key tasks for the 2026-2030 period.

During the period 2021-2025, the province's innovation and startup ecosystem has made significant progress.

A large number of students, young entrepreneurs, and young business owners in the area attended.

To implement the project supporting the innovation and startup ecosystem at the local level, the entire province organized more than 25 conferences, workshops, and training courses attracting approximately 5,000 participants; 20 intensive training courses; and produced 25 documentaries and 3,000 news articles on innovation and startups.

The province has directly supported 21 startup projects and businesses with costs for equipment and infrastructure, intellectual property, product development, and market expansion; it has also established 3 startup support centers, 1 business incubator, and co-working spaces at universities.

Mr. Nguyen Viet An, Deputy Director in charge of the Innovation Support Center, Innovation Department, Ministry of Science and Technology, provided information on policies and activities related to innovative startups.

Activities connecting supply and demand and commercializing products were vibrant, with over 86 cooperation agreements signed; the startup movement spread strongly in the community, especially among young people and young businesses.

Provincial-level startup competitions attracted over 1,600 ideas and projects, of which 170 projects were recognized at the provincial level, and many outstanding models participated in regional and national events.

At the conference, delegates participated in a panel discussion on the topic of "Solutions to promote the development of the startup and innovation ecosystem in Lam Dong province in the period 2026–2030".

Experts, managers, and businesses focused their discussions on improving institutions, developing startups, building an ecosystem coordination center, financial support mechanisms, promoting product commercialization, and developing creative human resources.

Mr. Vo Thanh Cong, Provincial Party Committee member and Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Lam Dong province, delivered a speech at the conference.

During the period 2026-2030, the entire province aims to build an innovation and startup ecosystem that is professional, sustainable, and highly interconnected.

The province aims to establish a Provincial-level Center for Startup and Innovation Support; support the development of 65 science and technology enterprises and 133 innovative startups; build an Innovation Fund; and develop a team of 300 national-standard innovation experts, coaches, and mentors.

At the same time, Lam Dong will promote the application of digital technology, strengthen regional connectivity and international cooperation, organize large-scale startup events… contributing to building a strong, sustainable and integrated innovation environment.
