The Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon Expressway has a total length of 88 km, passing through Quang Ngai province for 60.3 km and Gia Lai province for 27.7 km, with a total investment of over 20,400 billion VND. The project is managed by Project Management Board 2 ( Ministry of Construction ), with consortiums of contractors led by Deo Ca Group directly organizing the construction.

Ordered to commence construction by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on January 1, 2023, after more than 1,000 days of continuous construction , regardless of harsh weather conditions, over 4,000 engineers and workers have completed most of the main components of the entire route. The road surface has been paved with asphalt, and traffic safety systems are being urgently installed with signs, road markings, and road cleaning… in preparation for operation.
The fact that the project was completed 8 months ahead of schedule is considered a great effort by the participating units, especially given the enormous workload, complex terrain, and continuous, extended construction time.
Of these, the Song Ve Bridge (in Dinh Cuong commune), measuring 610 meters in length, is the largest bridge in the project.

The Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon expressway is considered one of the sections with the most complex technical infrastructure in the 2021-2025 period. The entire route includes 77 bridges, 586 culverts, and 81 pedestrian underpasses.
Notably, the expressway features three tunnels through the mountains with a total length of over 4,500 meters. The most prominent is tunnel number 3, measuring 3,200 meters in length, currently holding the record for the longest tunnel on the North-South expressway to date.
The remaining two tunnels (tunnels 1 and 2) have completed equipment installation and are currently undergoing testing of the ventilation system, lighting, announcement speakers, fire fighting equipment, etc. Tunnel 3, in particular, is being urgently completed with the installation of 20 jet fans, over 1,700 lighting fixtures ranging from 40W to 220W, and a range of other safety equipment.

According to Deo Ca Group, drawing on their experience in constructing numerous large tunnels such as Deo Ca, Cu Mong, and Hai Van, they have applied the "Deo Ca NATM tunneling method," an optimized variant of traditional NATM technology. This method allows for better geological control, reduces drilling and blasting time, accelerates tunnel arch reinforcement, and significantly shortens the overall construction time.
Representatives from Deo Ca Group assessed this as one of the important factors that helped the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon project not only ensure quality but also finish ahead of schedule, creating a good foundation for operation after inauguration.
The Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon expressway , with its starting point connecting to the Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway and its end point connecting to the Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon expressway, when operational, will not only alleviate traffic pressure on National Highway 1 but also open a new economic connection axis, fully unlocking the region's development potential and creating a growth impetus for the whole country.
