Reporting at the session, Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh stated that, regarding the target of completing 3,000km of expressways in 2025, it is expected that by the end of 2025, 3,803km will be completed (including 3,345km of main expressway routes and 458km of access roads).
As of August 19th, 2,620km of expressways have been completed and put into operation (including 2,476km of main routes and 144km of access roads). It is expected that by December 19th, 3,513km of expressways (including 3,188km of main routes and 325km of access roads) will be completed and opened for technical traffic; simultaneously, 1,700km of coastal roads will also be completed.
Besides, Long Thanh International Airport is also completing component projects to deploy technical flights.
Regarding preparations for the groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies of construction projects on December 19th, the Ministry of Construction announced that as of December 8th, it had compiled a list of 245 projects and works across 34 provinces and cities, with a total investment of 1,345,415 billion VND (including 155 groundbreaking projects and 90 inauguration projects).
The Ministry of Construction proposed 79 online and live video conferencing points at large-scale, significant projects and constructions, connecting with other projects and constructions within ministries, sectors, provinces, and cities...; with a central point at Long Thanh International Airport.
Concluding the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stated that only 20 days remain in 2025, and only 10 days are left until December 19th, while many projects and works still have a large volume of work to be completed.
Therefore, the Prime Minister requested that, with even greater speed and boldness, ministries, departments, localities, investors, management boards, and contractors must focus intensely, proactively, and actively lead, direct, supervise, inspect, and resolve difficulties and obstacles related to land, construction materials, etc., in the quickest, most timely, and most effective way.
Regarding the Long Thanh International Airport project, phase 1, the Prime Minister requested that the ministries and agencies in charge of the component projects, especially the Vietnam Airports Corporation, strictly implement the directives, urgently review the remaining tasks, and develop a specific and detailed plan to ensure technical flight operations on December 19, 2025; continue to complete the construction items, organize trial operations to officially commence commercial operations in early 2026.
