Sun Group is about to build a $2 billion mega casino project with over 2,000 slot machines.

(Dan Tri Newspaper) - Sun Group is finalizing procedures to start construction of a casino project in Van Don in December. The total area of ​​the project is nearly 245 hectares, with an investment of over 2 billion USD.

Speaking to a reporter from Dan Tri newspaper , a representative of Sun Group said they are trying to complete the procedures to start construction of the high-end integrated tourism service complex in the Van Don economic zone in December.

According to information from the Ministry of Construction , this project is one of 245 projects and works that are eligible to commence construction and be inaugurated on December 19th.

The project received investment approval from the Prime Minister on June 27th, and subsequently, in August, the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee approved the aforementioned corporation as the investor.

Regarding the project, the high-end integrated tourism service complex is located in the Van Don Economic Zone, Quang Ninh province, with one side facing the sea. The total planned area of ​​the project is nearly 245 hectares, of which more than 26 hectares are allocated for the casino area with a 25-story building above ground and 3 basement levels, expected to accommodate approximately 214 casino tables and 2,140 slot machines.

The hotel and resort complex will consist of two plots of land, each approximately 12 hectares in size, with a maximum building height of 30 above-ground floors and 3 basement floors. The resort itself will comprise seven plots of land, with a maximum building height of 5 above-ground floors and 2 basement floors.

This will be a complex of business establishments including a casino; real estate business, tourism services, hotels, villas, resorts; a shopping mall, office, conference and seminar center; and facilities for fitness, sports, entertainment and healthcare.

The project comprises three functional zones to be developed in phases. Zone 1 (nearly 37 hectares) will feature the development of high-rise hotel buildings with casino operations; commercial services, resorts, conference and seminar facilities, and high-end entertainment.

Zone 2 (nearly 74 hectares) is a multi-functional complex comprising a hotel, shopping mall, high-rise tourism services; a conference center, financial center, offices, entertainment, performing arts, and healthcare facilities.

Zone 3 (over 71 hectares) includes low-rise commercial and service areas, resorts, hotels combined with exhibition spaces, a floating theater, a museum, a festival street, conference tourism, entertainment...

The Van Don high-end integrated tourism and casino complex has an investment capital of over 2 billion USD, including investor contributions, loans, and mobilized capital. The investor plans to build the project over 9 years, with full operation expected from the second quarter of 2032.
