In 1999, Mr. Hoang Van Hop and his family moved to Krong No to start a business. At that time, the whole village had only a few houses scattered around the mountain slopes. Life was full of hardships, but Mr. Hop still persevered in staying on the land, reclaiming land, and planting trees to improve his life.
In the early days of starting his business, Mr. Hop’s family became familiar with coffee trees. However, with the refrain of “good harvest, low price”, Mr. Hop understood that it was necessary to diversify crops to increase value and avoid being too dependent on one type of tree. He carefully learned and experimented with intercropping models of coffee and durian, other fruit trees such as longan, rambutan, orange, grapefruit, etc.

In 2020, after receiving support in the form of 50 Thai durian seedlings, he boldly implemented a durian-coffee intercropping model. Learning as he went, he gradually mastered the techniques of caring for the trees, inducing flowering, and preventing diseases. To date, his family has expanded to approximately 120 durian trees. In the first harvest season, Mr. Hop's family earned about 500 million VND from this model.
Not keeping his experience to himself, Mr. Hoang Van Hop is always willing to provide technical support to households in the village who want to develop new plant varieties. If people need seeds, he helps connect them; if people need technical advice, he goes to the fields to guide them on how to fertilize, prune branches, and treat flowers. Thanks to that, more and more households in the village are bold in changing crops and livestock, gradually rising out of poverty.
In 2010, Mr. Hoang Van Hop was introduced as a prestigious person in the village. No matter what position he holds, Mr. Hop always plays an exemplary and dedicated role and becomes the link between the local government and the ethnic minority people.
Although the village of Plôm still faces many difficulties, thanks to the support and inspiration from Mr. Hoàng Văn Hợp, many families have risen out of poverty. Mr. Hợp is not only a successful businessman but also a respected and exemplary propagandist, responsible to the community. For many years, Mr. Hợp has been the "driving force" in the economic development and construction efforts that have helped the village of Plôm become increasingly strong.

One of Mr. Hop's most significant achievements is his efforts in mobilizing villagers to donate land for road construction. Specifically, when Krong No commune planned to build a road from Plom hamlet to National Highway 27, many households were hesitant. To set an example, Mr. Hop took the lead in donating over one sao (approximately 1000 square meters) of his family's land; he also encouraged others to follow suit. Thanks to his sincere and approachable persuasion, the people gradually agreed. As a result, a concrete road over 2.5 km long was completed, facilitating traffic flow and creating favorable conditions for the villagers' agricultural production and transportation. Furthermore, Mr. Hop also mobilized nearly 20 households to invest in bringing electricity to the residential area, providing many families with stable electricity and opening up new opportunities for development in the hamlet.
Mr. Hop believes that to develop the economy, everyone needs to proactively learn and update their knowledge. He regularly watches television, reads documents, and goes online to learn about agricultural techniques and apply technology to production. Mr. Hop shared: "In Plôm village, I was one of the first people to buy a smartphone. With a phone and internet access, I can freely explore and learn new and useful things from everywhere. I test, apply, and share this valuable knowledge with my fellow villagers. I also encourage my fellow villagers to use the internet to learn new and useful things; at the same time, to be vigilant against harmful and toxic information, and not fall into scams online."
