At the program, Vietnam Social Security and sponsors presented a symbolic plaque to donate 10,337 health insurance cards to representatives of Dak Lak provincial Party Committee and government with a total amount of nearly 2 billion VND. The entire cost of purchasing health insurance cards was supported by Vietcombank, Agribank , VietinBank and BIDV.

As one of the people who received a health insurance card, Ms. Pham Thi Bich Ngan (Phung Tuong 2 village, Phu Hoa 2 commune) could not hide her joy. Ms. Ngan expressed: "My family's economic conditions are difficult, so I have been hesitant to buy health insurance for a long time. This time, I am very happy to receive a free health insurance card from Vietnam Social Security and sponsors. In the future, I will try to save up to participate in order to enjoy continuous health insurance benefits."

Leaders of units presented health insurance cards to people of Phu Hoa 2.

Not only Ms. Bich Ngan, it is also the common joy of more than 10,000 people who received health insurance cards this time. Holding the health insurance card in hand, Mr. Le Van Chuong (Hoa Loi village, Xuan Canh commune) said that from now on he feels more secure when going to see a doctor, less worried about the burden of costs because he has health insurance.

According to Mr. Tran Dinh Lieu, Deputy Director of Vietnam Social Security, each health insurance card given to people in difficult circumstances today is not only a material sharing but also a great spiritual encouragement, showing the concern and care of the whole society for those who are less fortunate. Thereby, contributing to expanding health insurance coverage, ensuring social security and achieving the goal of sustainable poverty reduction.

In Dak Lak province, in addition to the health insurance card donation program of Vietnam Social Security, the provincial Social Security has called on officials and employees of agencies to contribute and mobilized local businesses and philanthropists to support nearly 620 million VND to buy 6,534 health insurance cards to give to ethnic minorities living in communes that are no longer identified as areas with difficult socio-economic conditions and people in difficult circumstances in the whole province.

In recent times, the Social Insurance sector in general and the provincial Social Insurance in particular have organized many practical programs and activities, including a program to support the purchase of social insurance books and health insurance cards for people in difficult circumstances. This activity aims to strongly spread the spirit of mutual love and affection so that more and more sponsors will share and help those in truly difficult circumstances, helping them have the opportunity to access and receive comprehensive health care and have more motivation to escape poverty sustainably. "I hope this program will be expanded and developed further in the future so that all people in difficulty have health insurance cards and receive health care, contributing to the good implementation of social security policies" - said Mr. Nguyen Huu Tu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee.
