Three reservoirs increase discharge rates; downstream areas should be prepared for flooding.

On December 10th, the Binh Thuan Irrigation Works Exploitation Company Limited (Lam Dong province) announced that it would increase water regulation through the spillways of several reservoirs in the late afternoon of the same day due to the onset of rain.

Water regulation through the Long Song Dam

The company requests that the People's Committees of the relevant communes, including Tuy Phong, Lien Huong, and Vinh Hao, promptly inform the people in the downstream areas of the reservoir and river mouth about the situation. At the same time, they must remain vigilant and prepare timely response and prevention plans in case of rain and floods.

Accordingly, as of 10:00 AM on December 10th, the water level of Long Song Reservoir was at an elevation of +75.35 m, 1.6 m lower than the normal water level. Currently, it has started raining upstream of Long Song Reservoir. Based on hydrological monitoring data in the reservoir's catchment area, Binh Thuan Irrigation Works Exploitation Company Limited (the Company) will operate to regulate water flow through the spillway of Long Song Reservoir. The operation is expected to begin at 5:00 PM on December 10th, 2025. The regulated water flow through the spillway will range from 20 ^m³ /s to 100 ^m³ /s, depending on the inflow into the reservoir.

At the same time, the water level of Phan Dung Lake is at an elevation of +205.11 m, 1.29 m lower than the normal water level. Currently, it has started raining upstream of Phan Dung Lake. The company will operate the water regulation system through the spillway of Phan Dung Lake, expected to begin at 5 PM on December 10, 2025. The water flow regulated through the spillway will range from 20 ^m³ /s to 100 ^m³ /s, depending on the amount of water flowing into the lake.

Silver Stone Lake

Furthermore, at 10:00 AM on the same day, the water level of Da Bac Lake was at +32.45 m, 0.95 m lower than the normal water level. Currently, it has started raining upstream of Da Bac Lake. The company will operate water regulation through the spillway of Da Bac Lake, expected to begin at 6:00 PM on December 10th, with a regulated water flow rate of 2 ^m³ /s to 30 ^m³ /s, depending on the inflow to the lake. At Song Quao Lake, the regulated water flow rate through the spillway is currently at 22.7 ^m³ /s.
