The Railway Industry dispatched a loaded train for the 5th time to prevent bridge collisions and floods.

Due to the impact of prolonged rain and floods, combined with the release of floodwaters to regulate water at reservoirs upstream in Lam Dong province, the water level in the downstream area rose, causing flooding of bridges and roads, affecting train operations on the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City railway line.

The Railway Industry has just informed that currently, flood water continues to rise, causing flooding in the Long Thanh - Song Luy section. The water level is 7-8 cm above the rail surface at the Km 1520+800 - Km 1521+000 section.

Response and train safety work is carried out by authorities 24/7 at key points.

From 8:30 a.m. on December 4, 2025, the local infrastructure management unit issued a warning and reduced train speed to 5 km/h through the area to ensure safety; at the same time, blocked the Ma Lam - Long Thanh section due to bridge flooding.

The floodwaters are rising rapidly, flowing rapidly, causing flooding of the knees and girders of the Km 1531+123 bridge. From 10:00 a.m. on December 4, 2025, the unit has blocked the section and temporarily stopped trains passing through the area until safety conditions are met. By noon today, the Railway industry has dispatched 4 freight trains with a load capacity of nearly 200 tons to block the bridge, to ensure the safety of the project.

The response and safety assurance work is carried out 24/7 at key points by the authorities; bridges and roads are continuously monitored and inspected; maximum human resources and equipment are mobilized to be ready to fix the problem as soon as conditions allow. The work of ensuring safety for train operations is at the highest level.

In addition, the Vietnam Railways Disaster Prevention and Control Steering Committee, in coordination with relevant units, is focusing on operating railway traffic in the affected area. During the temporary blockade, some trains may be delayed or have their routes adjusted.
