Be prepared for flash floods and landslides in provinces and cities from Hue to Gia Lai.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from 7:40 AM to 12:40 PM on December 5th, the area encompassing provinces and cities from Hue to Gia Lai will continue to experience rain. There is a risk of flash floods and landslides in the aforementioned area.

Specifically, accumulated rainfall is expected to be widespread in Hue and Da Nang , ranging from 5-10mm, with some areas exceeding 15mm; and in Quang Ngai and Gia Lai, from 5-10mm, with some areas exceeding 30mm. There is a warning of flash floods on small rivers and streams, and landslides on slopes in many communes and wards of Hue city, including A Luoi 2 and Phong Dien.

In Da Nang city, the communes and wards at risk of flash floods and landslides include: Hiep Duc, Phuoc Hiep, Phuoc Tra, Tra Leng; Ba Na, Ben Giang, Kham Duc, Phu Ninh, Son Cam Ha, Tay Ho, Tien Phuoc, Tra Giap, and Tra My.

In addition, Quang Ngai province has communes and wards at risk of flash floods and landslides, including: Ba Dinh, Ba Vinh, Kon Plong, Minh Long, Son Tay, Tay Tra Bong, Thanh Bong, Thien Tin; Ba Dong, Ba Gia, Ba To, Ba To, Ba Vi, Ba Xa, Binh Chuong, Ca Dam, Dinh Cuong, Dong Tra Bong, Lan Phong, Mang But, Mo Duc, Nghia Giang, Nguyen Nghiem, Tra Cau, Phuoc Giang, Son Ha, Son Ha, Son Ky, Son Linh, Son Mai, Son Tay Ha, Son Tay Thuong, Son Thuy, Son Tinh, Tay Tra, Tra Bong, Tra Giang, Truong Giang, Ve Giang.

Flash floods and landslides can have very serious impacts on the environment, threatening people's lives; causing localized traffic congestion, affecting the movement of vehicles; destroying public and economic infrastructure, causing damage to production and socio-economic activities.

The meteorological and hydrological agency recommends that local authorities pay attention to reviewing bottlenecks and vulnerable locations in the area to take preventive and response measures.

From 6:00 AM on December 4th to 6:00 AM on December 5th, the provinces/cities from Hue to Gia Lai experienced moderate to heavy rainfall, with some areas receiving very heavy rain, such as: Rao Trang 4 Hydropower Dam (Hue City) 173mm, Phuoc Hiep (Da Nang City) 116mm, Long Mon (Quang Ngai) 135mm, Nghia Dien (Gia Lai) 105mm.
