This is my 10th visit to Ha Giang.
Tourist and photographer Tran Trung (Andy Trung) recently completed his 10th trip to Ha Giang (now part of Tuyen Quang province) from June 10-13, starting from Hai Phong. Unlike previous trips, this time he spent time exploring lesser-known routes, outside the familiar tourist routes often mentioned when talking about Ha Giang. "I want to find new perspectives, unique landscapes so that people know that Ha Giang not only has famous check-in spots but also many pristine beauties waiting to be discovered," he told Tri Thuc - Znews . Trung returned to Ha Giang for the 10th time because, according to him, each season brings a different appearance. There are seasons when flowers bloom brilliantly on the rocky plateau, seasons when green rice fields stretch across the terraced fields, and seasons when clouds blanket the mountain slopes, creating a majestic landscape. This time, he captured what he considers to be the most beautiful photo of all his trips to Ha Giang to date.
Ha Giang has changed.
Photographer Andy Trung first "backpacking" in Ha Giang in 2023 and was immediately captivated by the majestic mountain passes, the sprawling jagged limestone mountains, the images of highland children, and international tour groups. While his first trip was simply that of a tourist amazed by Ha Giang's scenery, he now actively seeks out lesser-known stories, routes, and moments. According to him, the number of tourists visiting Ha Giang has increased significantly, especially international visitors, and many new cafes and services have sprung up. This shows that local tourism is developing strongly, further motivating him to explore new routes. His love for nature is the reason he can return to Ha Giang many times without getting bored. He plans to return to this region again this coming July. "After 10 trips exploring Ha Giang, for me, it's not just a tourist destination but also a place that inspires me. Each new route opens up a new story, and that's why I keep traveling. I believe Ha Giang still has many undiscovered beauties, and I want to contribute to telling those stories through my photographs," he said.
