On the Lam Dong province side, attending and presiding over the reception were Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Phuc, Provincial Party Committee member and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of leaders from relevant departments, agencies, and higher education institutions in the province.

The JETRO delegation was led by Mr. Okabe Mitsutoshi, Chief Representative of the JETRO Ho Chi Minh City Office, along with experts and officials in charge of investment, markets, innovation, and agricultural products.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Ngoc Phuc expressed his pleasure in welcoming the JETRO delegation to Lam Dong, affirming that Japan is an important partner of the province with 22 active projects, totaling over 78 million USD, mainly in the fields of high-tech agriculture and agricultural and aquatic product processing. Japan currently accounts for over 23.6% of the province's total export turnover.

In a friendly atmosphere, representatives of the JETRO delegation extended their condolences and shared their deepest sympathy for the damage that Lam Dong province suffered due to heavy rains and landslides in recent times.
The delegation affirmed its confidence in the rapid recovery of the locality and appreciated the efforts of the authorities in ensuring the safety and stability of people's lives.

In response to the delegation's interest, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Phuc thanked JETRO for their kind sentiments and provided further information about the province's outstanding potential, such as: a high-tech agricultural ecosystem; abundant natural conditions suitable for many valuable crops; its strategic location as a bridge between the South Central Coast and the Central Highlands; and a strong development orientation towards transportation and logistics infrastructure, ecotourism, and a green economy. These are the foundations for Lam Dong to expand deeper cooperation with Japanese businesses.

Mr. Okabe Mitsutoshi highly appreciated the development potential of Lam Dong after the merger, especially in high-tech agriculture, logistics infrastructure, processing industry, and tourism. These are all areas that suit the needs of Japanese businesses.

Immediately following the courtesy meeting, the JETRO delegation held an in-depth working session with provincial departments and agencies to gather information for the investment environment research project in the southern provinces and cities.

The JETRO delegation raised many in-depth questions related to transportation costs, investment incentives, the need for high-quality human resources, prospects for agricultural cooperation, and the possibility of opening transportation routes to serve exports to Japan.

During the meeting, provincial units provided comprehensive information on: post-merger development planning; economic policies; FDI attraction situation; transportation, logistics, and power infrastructure; human resources and Japanese language training; investment environment requirements; potential and challenges of the agriculture and fisheries sectors; a list of industrial zones; and answered many questions of interest to the Japanese delegation.

Representatives from the relevant departments and agencies provided clear answers and committed to providing additional thematic data in writing in the near future.

During the meeting, both sides agreed to commit to long-term cooperation, maintain regular information exchange, closely coordinate in resolving difficulties for businesses, and create the most favorable conditions for the effective and substantive implementation of cooperation programs between Lam Dong and the Japanese business community in the future.
