If you have good feelings, you'll "fly" better.
Huyen Trang entered the downhill event with a bit of pressure as in previous SEA Games, her seniors always won gold medals in mountain biking such as Nguyen Thi Thanh Huyen, Phan Thi Thuy Trang or Dinh Thi Nhu Quynh. Understanding that, before setting off, Huyen Trang reassured herself that even though she still lacked a lot of experience, stepping out into the "big sea" would not be easy, so she should just play comfortably and play to the best of her ability.

But the reason she burst into tears after finishing was because she felt she had not achieved her best ability. Especially the "flying" sections over the steep slopes at an undesired speed. This term is often used by experts to refer to groups of drivers who fly when going downhill or turning corners very quickly. To do well like that, one must practice well, be familiar with the road to be in the best condition to compete. But the time for Vietnamese athletes to practice was only more than 1 day, so they could not "fly" as well as the home athletes.
Huyen Trang sobbed: "I'm sad because I can't "fly" well when I haven't had much time to get used to the new route arranged by the Organizing Committee at the zoo in Chonburi, I haven't fully adapted. There are many steep and fast turns that I haven't fully felt. I would have done better if I had practiced here for at least a while. Anyway, I feel like I'm still weak, I have to try to practice more."

Huyen Trang cried after the race.

Coach Le Nguyen Thanh Nhan said that if Huyen Trang had been in better shape on the turns and slopes to have a stronger "flying" speed, she could have taken the 4th place of the Filipino cyclist. Although there was still a gap with her opponents, especially being nearly 20 seconds behind the person above her, but anyway, Huyen Trang's result of 3 minutes 41 seconds 915 was already too good compared to what was expected. The fact that the organizers arranged many artificial race tracks in the zoo instead of natural terrain made the Vietnamese cyclists "freeze" when practicing and getting used to it, encountering many difficulties, so despite their best efforts, they still could not perform completely well.

Tomorrow, December 11th, the two male cyclists will compete in the cross-country race. According to coach Le Nguyen Thanh Nhan, like Huyen Trang, adapting to the race course in the short training time at Chonburi Zoo will still be a challenge for the Vietnamese cyclists. But they will all try their best with the hope of winning a SEA Games medal.
