Da Nang announces series of events to attract tourists in 2026

A series of check-in models to welcome the new year 2026, along with many art programs, entertainment activities... promise to bring a colorful and multi-experience festival season to people and tourists.

The information was given at the press conference announcing the Danang New Year Festival 2026 organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Danang on the afternoon of December 9.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism , from the beginning of 2026 to the end of August 2026, Da Nang will simultaneously renew the appearance of beach tourism with a series of check-in models spread across the city's major beaches.

The 2026 New Year Festival takes place over 5 days (December 30, 2025 - January 3, 2026) with many colorful cultural and entertainment activities.

New Year 2026 check-in model chain (December 20, 2025 - January 3, 2026) with 4 check-in spaces such as: Brilliant Christmas space with 20m high pine tree, New Year's melody space, Hoi An colorful space, Da Nang yellow space.

The new feature of this year's festival is that the city organizes the "Da Nang - Welcome New Year 2026" Boulevard, taking place over 3 nights (December 30, 2025 - January 1, 2026) on Bach Dang walking street (Hai Chau ward).

The boulevard space is recreated as a "creative festival axis", where sound, light and art blend to create a bustling atmosphere to welcome the new year, allowing visitors to freely explore and experience.

The festival also organizes the "Light up the Han River - Run to the future" race, taking place from 10:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. on December 31, 2025.

Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi: The festival creates momentum for the city's tourism industry to continue to make strong breakthroughs.

Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi said that the Da Nang New Year Festival 2026 is an annual city-level cultural, sports and tourism event.

“The festival is expected to bring joyful moments, emotional experiences and is an unmissable destination for tourists” – the Vice Chairman of the City shared and emphasized “The series of events will be a special mark, spreading a warm atmosphere in the moment of transition from the old year to the new year.

Thereby, contributing to improving the experience of tourists, diversifying tourism products, stimulating demand to attract tourists to Da Nang. At the same time, creating momentum for the city's tourism industry to continue to make strong breakthroughs, continuing to affirm Da Nang's position as the leading festival destination in the region in 2026".

According to the city's statistics, the total number of guests served by accommodation establishments in November 2025 is estimated to reach more than 1.1 million, including 606,000 international guests. In the first 11 months of 2025, accommodation establishments in the city served about 16.5 million guests, an increase of 18.9% over the same period in 2024; international guests alone reached 7 million.

Experts offer suggestions to help Da Nang shape a new tourism strategy. Experts believe that Da Nang needs a new development strategy based on innovation, regional linkages, and strong exploitation of the night-time economy and MICE tourism.
