The high-altitude fireworks display will take place at three locations: the area at the entrance to the Saigon River tunnel, An Khanh ward; the New City Center area, Binh Duong ward; and Tam Thang Square, Vung Tau ward.
The low-altitude fireworks display will take place at Dam Sen Cultural Park, Binh Thoi Ward.
In addition, the city is implementing artistic lighting decorations on central streets and many cultural and artistic programs to welcome the new year 2026, such as:
The New Year's Eve countdown program for 2026 will take place on the evening of December 31, 2025, in the Nguyen Hue pedestrian street area, Saigon ward (expected to be expanded to include the Le Loi street axis, Lam Son Park, and the area in front of the City Theater).
The "Awakening the Dawn Waves 2025" program includes: a running race and a mass yoga performance to welcome the morning sunrise on December 31, 2025, at Tam Thang Square, Vung Tau Ward; an art program "Awakening the Dawn Waves" taking place on the evening of December 31, 2025, at Tam Thang Square, Vung Tau Ward; and a "Cultural and Culinary Festival" taking place from December 27, 2025, to January 1, 2026, at Bai Sau Beach, Vung Tau Ward.
An outdoor art program to welcome the New Year 2026 will be held in the Binh Duong Ward Park area (formerly the Binh Duong Provincial Administrative Center) on December 31, 2025.
Art program on the evening of December 31, 2025 in wards and communes such as: Dau Tieng commune, Xuan Son commune, Binh Khanh commune, Go Vap ward, Phu Thanh ward.
New Year's Eve activities and performances to welcome 2026 will take place at the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Cultural Center, universities, colleges, vocational schools, and dormitories, on the nights of December 31, 2025 and January 1, 2026.
Cultural and artistic activities will be held in export processing zones and industrial parks on the nights of December 27th and 28th, 2025.
Sports activities include: the 12th Ho Chi Minh City Marathon 2026, taking place from January 9th to 11th, 2026; the Ho Chi Minh City New Year's Cross-Country Race on December 28th, 2025, along the roads in Binh Duong ward; the Dinh Mountain Run…
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, the Standing Agency of the Organizing Committee for major holidays of the City, will be responsible for inspecting and coordinating with relevant units to implement items serving the organization of art programs and digital media production; planning to ensure security and fire safety in the areas where New Year's celebrations are held in the city. It will also be responsible for granting permits for the use of roads and sidewalks according to Decree 165/2024/ND-CP and the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety; arranging ambulances and medical personnel to ensure medical services throughout the activities, ensuring disease prevention and control according to regulations; organizing security, maintaining order, environmental hygiene, arranging parking areas, checkpoints, traffic flow management and regulation throughout the New Year's celebrations; and ensuring the power supply for the activities…
