A special exhibition titled "Friendship Connected by Light - The Story of Two Nations Under the Big Dipper" has opened at the Korean National Assembly Headquarters in Seoul.
The event was organized by the Korea-Vietnam Economic and Cultural Exchange Association (KOVECA) in collaboration with the Vietnamese Embassy in Korea and the Korea-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group.
Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to South Korea Vu Ho emphasized that the exhibition, held on the occasion of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth and the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and South Korea, carries profound spiritual and historical significance, especially with the congratulations of the Speaker of the Korean National Assembly Woo Won-shik and many members of parliament from the host country, demonstrating the strong interest and support of the Korean National Assembly for strengthening friendly relations, parliamentary cooperation, and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.
Professor Ahn Kyong-hwan, a Vietnam studies expert and Rector of Nguyen Trai University, stated that this event is extremely significant. Considering Vietnam's 80th National Day and 50th anniversary of national liberation in 2025, it carries immense encouragement and motivation for the Korean people, helping to spread the great ideology of President Ho Chi Minh to the Korean people.
The exhibition presents to the public a collection of works about President Ho Chi Minh, including: "Lang Sen," "Wandering," "Origins," "Aspiration," "Following in His Footsteps," and "Flying Flower Petals."
With a unique combination of works by "light sculpture" artist Bui Van Tu and sculptor-art director Moon-E (Korea), the exhibition tells the story of the two nations through the "language of light," placing the Vietnam-Korea relationship within the humanistic symbolism of the Big Dipper constellation as art conveys it through each artwork.
Lasting for three days from December 10-12, the event not only contributed to honoring President Ho Chi Minh and promoting mutual understanding, but also fostered national pride among the Vietnamese community living in South Korea.
