
The final gold medal of the day went to athlete Nguyen Van Dung, who brilliantly defeated his Indonesian opponent in the shooting final. This is the first gold medal for the Vietnamese Petanque Team and the fourth gold medal for the Vietnamese Sports Delegation on the first official day of competition at the 33rd SEA Games.
The Vietnamese petanque team also won 3 bronze medals in individual events, thanks to the efforts of athletes Thai Thi Hong Thoa, Nguyen Thi Hien, and Huynh Cong Tam.
Thus, the opening day of competition for the Vietnamese Sports Delegation concluded with an impressive achievement: 4 gold medals, 4 silver medals, and 10 bronze medals. Throughout the day, Vietnamese athletes shone with outstanding performance and determination.
The total of 18 medals won on December 10th marks a promising start, promising even more success for the Vietnamese sports delegation at the 33rd SEA Games.
